So yeah, if the following gets published, it was me. w00t for analness.

Subject: Editing! (>_<)

Hi there,

I just read the entirety of the first (and highly anticipated!) issue of Shojo Beat. I really liked it, and I felt that it really conveyed the feeling of a Japanese manga magazine (minus the different colored paper for each series). However, I found three errors and one possible error:

1. Page 011, "Desert Anyone?" just about killed me. Should read "Dessert, Anyone?"
2. Page 221, the tagline at the bottom has an additional space between "fit" and "in".
3. Page 336, first paragraph reads, "and late-night TV appearances under way..." "Underway" is one word.
Possible error: Page 342, question one: "So if you want to get kills..." If "kills" is not a volleyball term, it should be "skills". If it is a volleyball term, perhaps include a sidebar explaining various volleyball terms.

I don't mean to be so tough on you guys, but if you want this to be taken seriously as a professional publication, *I* shouldn't be able to pick these things out without any effort. Perhaps you should hire me to give it a final copyediting approval before releasing the next issue! Seriously. I love what you guys are doing, and would love to help. Plus then I get first dibs on reading each issue. (^_~)

In terms of those taglines at the bottom.. Those got really old, really quick. I can see it if you are trying to get those who are sneaking a peek at the mag in their local bookstore to buy a copy, but..! Try to at least distribute them more evenly throughout the magazine? I counted five ads in a row in Kaze Hikaru (16 total!), but only seven in Absolute Boyfriend, and none in Crimson Hero. I mean, aren't we already *reading* Shoujo Beat manga? I'll be 28 next month, and I think they're fairly lame. If the "kids" are also giving you the same feedback, you may just want to drop the whole thing, or include them sparingly. I did think it was cute at first, especially when done in different colors.

All in all, keep up the good work! (^_^)
