Studio update and health

Happy things! So I set up the studio yesterday and today I go back in to make with the art! I have several commissions and production pieces that need made so I am very excited. I just get to make pretty for awhile. I have updated many of the sets on my flickr Coraleyes. My photostream is a mess, go straight to sets and check out what intrigues you. I will try to have things up asap, but here is a pic of a recently done ring:

It is gorgeous here by the coast. Blue skies, cool breeze, warm sun. I am so happy it is mellow right now, I dread th upcoming higher than 85 degree weather because they do not air condition the studio in the summer. But right here and now, it is every reason to live in south Coast MA.

Ryan has been very introspective lately, and working on himself. It's nice to see. Bike rides, typing, and job hunting. Thinking about future things.

On a not happy note, due to finally having and using health insurance I now know why my knees hurt. I have arthritis. Bad. And my knee caps are slightly not in the right place. The doctor had the sad face of "these are not the knees of a 36 year old". While it cannot be fixed, it can be halted.

I have been prescribed glucosomine, physical therapy, and exercise although bless his hippocratic heart he specifically told me to avoid all lunges and squats with exercise, as well as stairs if possible (It's not but no stairmaster anyway). The best thing I can do for myself is weight loss. It is on. I love my knees. A life with no dancing? Sod that for a game of soldiers.

I have been reading Catherynne Valente's for awhile, and in her latest posts which are a very powerful and brave account of her weight gain, struggle and eventual loss, she wrote a cool thing. It's not so much losing the weight, as leaving it. On this I ponder, for it feels good and true without the gravitas of loss.
