Daydreamin'

I had a dream last night that, rather than writing my essay on the poetry of Andrew Marvell, I pretended to misunderstand the assignment and wrote an essay about the portrayal of masculinity in Marvel comic books. My tutor was so impressed she didn't even get angry. It was wonderful.

In other news, life is beautiful. Oxford is getting spring-like (thought I'm told it will get cold again), I had a wonderful day yesterday that was productive only in that it put me in an enormously good mood. I went to the co-op with Ian, which turned into a stroll through less University-centric Jericho, and we passed my potential future workplace (Oxford University Press). Chatted with a lot of people in Party Central, aka Ian's room, then went shopping with Sam, which was entertaining because he knows how good he looks, and likes to dress accordingly, although we did run into trouble trying to find a throw rug that didn't look like someone skinned a plastic bear. Ages of fun with Photobooth on Ian's computer and lots of really good conversations with lots of really good people (British and American), and got to listen to Sam and Asia banter for a bit (and discovered I am not nearly qualified to bant along with them). I am still basking. Hopefully the basking will get me through a day at the English Faculty Library (hopefully I will make it TO the English Faculty Library), and lots of Marvell (and I don't mean the comic books.) Although

...And so is Photobooth.
