1. Have lost 10 lbs since last Monday. Awesome. Dukan diet.
2 There is a Christmas ornament that is Santa's bare butt, and when you squeeze it, it farts out "Deck the Halls." Seriously. And they wonder what is wrong with this country. If I want to hear farted Christmas carols, I'll train my own boys to do it.
3. Yes, I am looking at Christmas stuff because I vow not to pay more than I need to for shipping, on anything.
4. Another good Special Ed PTA meeting last night. New people came, really informative speaker, and got two more moms excited about special hockey. One has a 4-year-old in a wheelchair who is pretty profoundly disabled but loves to watch sports. I showed her some pics from hockey of some other profoundly disabled kids on their ice chairs, and told her it would be perfect for him. She was so excited she was in tears. I love being able to share these resources.
5. Speaking of hockey, travel season ended Sunday, high school season starts with practices today. Luke is sooo stoked. He's improved so much and is really psyched for the season. I am too because I've cooked up a couple of promotions I think will be fun. Yay.
6. Shrek won the Geography Bee in his class again, so for the 2nd year moves on to the grade finals. Seems to be his thing. I think he may also have made the honor roll.
7. Bookworm is now the only student on campus with keys to the campus library. Dream come true much? They have made her the Student Library Supervisor. If for some reason the regular supervisors can't get to campus to open the library, she does. My ickle freshman. Kicking library butt.
8. Meanwhile, our town library director is very open to working with the Special Ed PTA. She's given me promo space at the library, and wants to talk about volunteer/job opportunities for our kids. I'm going to ask if she thinks the library can order some adaptive technology books (Start to Finish by Don Johnston - Kit, do you know these?) Maybe there is room in their ADA budget.
9. Can we tell the new meds seem to be working? Yes, we can.
10. I never have a day where I don't love Daisy. No matter what.
