Happy

Wow, finally in Houston now.

We packed up on Saturday and spent most of Sunday driving, then carried everything up 3 flights of stairs to our apartment.  My feet are really sore, they're not used to stairs anymore I guess.

Our cat, Peach, was really cute on the drive.  He didn't want to be in his crate, so we let him out.  He looked around the car, then went underneath my seat and slept for the 8 hour drive curled up under there.  We just pulled the seat forward, picked him up, and put him back in his crate when we arrived and it was time to sign the lease.  He was super polite and quiet, just resting when we were in the office talking for an extra half hour.

The office ladies remarked about how they'd been expecting an orange cat instead of a jet black one because of his name, but what can we say?  The name stuck for him.

Houston seems really cool.  Very multicultural, you hear all sorts of languages.  People seem really friendly, and the apartment complex is fancy.  The apartment itself is laid out well, all the spaces nicely considered.  I'd never seen the apartment before, only Chris had, so didn't know what to expect.  We do have BY FAR the cheapest car, since ours is so old, tiny and gaudy with it's bright yellow color.

There's ducks that wander around the complex from the lake, so that's cool :)  I should check out the nearby park soon.  Not much light on the balcony since it faces north, I can only grow shade plants here, I think.

Overall, it's really nice.  I think I can be happy living here too.  Being in cities isn't preferred for me, but this place seems good.
