Luckies

I've realized something about myself:  When I'm in really bad shape, physically unwell or injured, I get super reclusive because I physically feel fragile and unsafe.

I'd been having weird, bizarre knee problems for a while.  I think I tore something a long while ago no idea how, because I got a huge swelling on my knee, like half lemon size.  It hurt to stand on the knee and I couldn't move at all well for a while or carry loads larger than a pot of water or so.  Then I could stand on it but I couldn't flex past like 70 degrees, or kneel on it.  I had to only bend at the waist.

I think it's fixed now though!  In a bizarre case similar to finding gold by falling into a hole, I fell, hard, off a chair.

It really scared Chris, because I landed on my knee and smacked my chin on the desk too.  I thought I might've seriously messed up my knee, but no!  Aside from a bit of bruising on my chin and arm (also cushioned the blow) I'm better than fine!  Over two months later, it looks like the fall popped the big fluid swelling in my knee causing a bit more bruising, and it isn't reforming!  I can flex my knee all the way now, and it still doesn't hurt to stand on it!  I'm so relieved it's finally better!  I know the fall popped it, but I thought it might form up again.  It seems that I'm back in action, though my muscles are weaker from lessened use.  I can do lunges again! <3

I probably should've gone to a doctor, but I know all they would've said was "surgery."  I don't like surgery on weight bearing joints if I can help it, because surgery cuts nerves and muscles and might repair it, but permenantly weaker overall from what I understand.  I figured I'd just let it do it's thing and see what came of it instead.  It's a funny thing, I give blood fine, I have no fear of needles or knives, but I don't often go to the doctor.  I keep thinking if I treat my body gently and well, it'll hopefully fix itself.

In other news, I had an experiment success!  Cabbage alfredo.  I cut long thin shreds of cabbage, and added a bit of my homemade alfredo sauce.  It's just made with a bit of butter, flour, milk, salt, and spoon or two of parmesan.  It was so good though!  Raw cabbage is so mild the alfredo totally works with it and almost dominated it.  The crunch was pretty nice also.  So just raw veggie and sauce.  Chris even liked it a lot.  I really like it because it's so easy, I don't even have to cook pasta.  Just chop a hunk of cabbage, make a small pot of 5 ingredient quick sauce, done.
