conversation and history.

We were out for my birthday, and a high school friend who I rarely see, Andrew, came out. It was great to see him and so we took a 'dork squad' picture for old time's sake: Akorn, Andrew, and I. What was really funny was when we were looking at the picture, Andrew and I said, at the same time, "We're so old!" I mean, we're not, but we are. If I photoshopped a high school picture next to this one, you would definitely notice a difference. Older for sure. Mature? Maybe not completely. "We're all immature" as Carl said. Grown up? A bit grown, but still have much growing to do, though much so since high school.

I was also asking him if he does his frat hand sign anymore, and he said no, and I said, as he did, "Too old!" lol, it is kind of weird to do it so frequently out of college, and you do stop, but I will do it with my sisters, just not on my own.

I was also talking to a Rob at one point and telling him how, in the UK, I wish I had a pocket him and Kimberly to refresh and inform me of the history of all these places and the art history behind it. It'd be so great, and I always think of what they could be telling me when I travel.

I mean, to me it's like learning every little detail of a story, and telling it as accurately as possible, and that's pretty grand that people want to do that, because, it's over and done, frankly. And most times, people are very much, oh, the past is in the past, but no, this is what we're built on, and what still stands, and it's SO fascinating.

It's great that they want to study it, and mostly, to some extent, to teach others of it and give us such a great story to tell and continue to pass on.

And if you see some of the things, how old they are! Man, like the Colosseum, it literally gives you a chill to be standing in it and you WANT to know the history of it...or at least remember more than you do...;)

best of times, friendship, traveling, friends, travels, conversations, history, personal
