Yesterday, I got the cat a new scratching thing that lies flat on the floor, since she ignores the scratching post and prefers scratching the rug.
She sniffed it with mild interest and I tried to demonstrate by scratching it with my nails. But she just gave me a weird look and head butted my hand. This may be a long job.
In other news, knitting is NOT a cheap hobby. Buoyed up by my success with scarves and bags, I was planning the next project -- a neat little shrug (cropped cardigan). So I'm thinking 'ok, 5 balls of wool. how expensive can that be?' ... £37. Did this used to be cheaper than buying clothes?
