I hope everyone had a great holiday. Mine, indeed, was tolerable. The highlight, as
librainiac and
badasslytherin have mentioned, was getting together with the two of them. We met for breakfast, caught up on the past few years, remembered the good old days, and even ventured to New England Comics. Now, with
librainiac's departure, I feel a renewed sense of loss; my greatest wish is that we could all live, at least, in the same state (sigh).
That aside, the weekend kept me pretty busy. Friday night was dinner at Bugaboo Creek with the boy's sister and her boyfriend. There, I ran into a ex-coworker from the Charlie Horse who had chopped off all her hair. Thus, Saturday morning, I took a trip to the salon and had mine shorn as well. Long in the front, short and crazy in the back, I consider it business chic meets comic book fun with a little mental patient thrown in for good measure. Though I was trying to grow it out, I realize that I only do so until tempted to chop it again. Whatever, I like my hair better short anyway.
Saturday also marked my return to the mall, as an employee, after a near-two-year absence. That's right, I got a part-time weekend job at Aeropostale, of which I am a former assistant manager, for some extra cash. I'm merely a lowly associate now, but who cares; less responsibility, and no one, save the manager, tells me what to do because of my former status. Now that's how all jobs should work.
Saturday night, the boy and I met with
badasslytherin and her hubby for some home-cooked cuisine, quality conversation and barrels of laughs; we watched "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story," and I totally peed myself frequently.
Two days in a row,
badasslytherin joined me at the gym. I don't think I've pushed myself so hard since I joined the club, but it was oodles of fun to have someone to go with; I think it'd be better for me if she could get my ass out of bed every morning and go with me.
As for yesterday, after the gym I tried to do the whole work thing. Unfortunately, a migraine (I have had one, in one extreme or another, pretty much every day for the the past three weeks) got the best of me, and I took my leave and made my way home to my bed. I alternated between sleeping and replaying "Kingdom Hearts," but still woke this morning with an achey head. I'm going to see a doctor on Friday for a professional's opinion, but I'm thinking my migraines, which I've been prone to since I was a kid, are being aggravated by poor diet, smoking in my bedroom, dehydration (since I only drink coffee and soda when I'm thirsty), and a crappy pillow which leaves me with neck pains coupled with the headache. But there's one thing I'm sure of: "It's not a tumor!"
Happy Fun News (for those of us who care):
- Serenity comes out on DVD 20th! (Merry freakin' Christmas)
- Wal-Mart has Thundercats: Season One, Volume One and all three volumes of Invader Zim (Oh, my joyful squeggleyspoosh!). Plus, they carry the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe live-action movie for under ten dollars (It may be crap, but it's cheap, mildly entertaining crap!)
