The facts of life

The past two days have brought with them a crazy amalgam of good and bad fortune in equal doses.

Good:
  • I won a $50 gift certificate to BJs for being employee of the month!
  • I bought myself a Gryffindor and Wonder Woman shirt this morning
  • My boyfriend bought me a Playstation 2 over the weekend, gifting me with my Christmas present early

Bad:
  • I don't shop at BJs
  • My boyfriend got drunk and erased all of my unfinished games (including 60 hours of FFX) off my old memory card
  • I was supposed to wait in line with my boyfriend's sister to try and get him one of the new XBOX systems tonight.  However, I realized this morning that she had messed up the day and date, and we were supposed to do it last night.  Therefore, my boyfriend will not be getting the only thing he wanted for X-mas until February, when XBOX restocks stores in the region with the quantity of systems they were supposed to ship in the first place!

As for the weekend:  It was Charlie's 22nd birthday on Friday.  I was a little generous and gave him Land of the Dead on DVD, a metal CD he had hidden at Newbury Comics and a book on special effects makeup so he could start practicing for the horror short he wants to film.  Then, courtesy of his sister and her boyfriend, we ventured into Boston for dinner at Medieval Manor.  Though that was fun in itself, the festivities were made cooler by the abundant flowing of beer, eating with our hands, and seeing Bevin Garoupy (sp?) from NDA performing as a wench.  And not only did I see a familiar face from highschool, I also saw someone I knew from college.  Of all the places...

Plus, I took myself to see Harry Potter, which was awesome,  and I am now the proud new owner of Batman Begins and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith on DVD.  Yay, me!
