No end in sight?!

Sigh, school is in full bloom again and it is now even more difficult to keep up than last year. The courses are certainly very advanced, but that is expected, otherwise it wouldn't be a Master's program. On top of the piles of homework I have, I have had a lot of house and other post-wedding chores, and I need time to review for the GRE Physics exam in a month and a half.

Overall though, I shouldn't complain as health-wise I am doing fine, and I am still generally losing weight, now down to 215 lbs. from 260 a year and a half ago. Still playing pickup soccer and also in an indoor soccer league with a team we formed from the guys at pickup. We first signed up last spring and played two sessions, finishing 7th and then 5th out of an 8-team division. This session we have played 3 games and lost 2, the last loss 6-5 with a goal allowed with less than a minute to go! It was so frustrating because, in my opinion, I kept my team in the game with 2 goals and an assist, as well as being a major part in the build up of another goal. Basically, I was directly responsible for 4 of the 5 goals, while playing defense throughout the game. So it was so frustrating to have our goalie give the ball away so easy in the last minute and make all the hard work not count. Oh well, I guess all that matters is that I am playing well again and getting fitter and fitter.

My wife Emmy and I are doing great! She is currently looking for a job and has gotten a few interviews. The second half of this year has been slow for hiring in general, so I am not too worried. I feel that she will quickly find something in the new year, if she hasn't gotten one before then. I am still driving my awesome Mazda 3, although it is not as spotless as it was a year ago. I've carelessly put some scratches on it, but life goes on. It's not the end of the world. Still working at Intel as well, but may have to take time off work (if they allow this) for several months next semester if I take 3 or 4 classes, in order to finish my Master's by spring or summer. Once again, as in Davis, I am looking forward to finishing school PERMANENTLY! We'll see where the wind will blow next.
