I am now married to my sweetheart Emmy!
The wedding was on Saturday, July 14th. We wanted to avoid the crazy wedding rush on the 7th. The wedding was amazing and went just as we planned. It was really good seeing some of my friends there from Davis and some of my co-workers as well.
The ceremony was just perfect! It was a nice, warm and clear day and we had decorated the gazebo. The scenery was beautiful and the pictures turned out brilliant against the background. I think we made the right choice to have Emmy's uncle from England, who is a priest himself, do the ceremony. He was thoughtful and sentimental and had some sense of humor and cheerfulness in his speeches.
Our trip to Monterey right after the wedding was pleasant too. We got a few honks throughout the trip as my Mazda was decorated with bows and ribbons. The weather was nice and calm and I even got to fully submerge myself in the ocean. I have never seen the ocean so calm as it was during our visit. The waves were no taller than a foot and were infrequent. There was a lot of kelp visible near the shore. We went on a glass-bottom boat trip around Fisherman's Wharf and took a close look of the sea lions and various birds resting on the docks and rocks. It was interesting to see the kelp through the glass-bottom as well as some large sea stars. I think we saw a total of 2 fish.
I am now excited to go on our honeymoon trip to Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein with my lovely wife! The trip is mostly throughout Switzerland but crosses the boarder briefly in various places. We might get to see the famous Matterhorn and take a high-elevation train trip in the Alps. We will be travelling through the Rhone Valley and visit Lugano in Italy. I can't wait. It is good not to work for over 2 weeks! I don't want it to end, so we will enjoy every bit of it.
