I forgot what was the last thing I updated, and I am not going to bother looking it up.
I finally became an Intel regular full-time employee on March 6th and received my first paycheck from Intel last week. I am excited because I also get benefits and it has been a long time since I last went for dental checkup. I have also been having eye/head problem that I have an eye appointment with a doctor tomorrow. I have been seeing double images with my right eye (vertical directions, so a line would appear as = instead). My eye has been hurting from time to time and I feel some discomfort and ocular pressure. I have also had regular headaches on the front right side of my head, the area on top of my right eye. I just hope if it's something serious for it to be over quickly, and if it is not, that it can be cured and I can fully recover. We will see what the doctor says tomorrow.
On a happier note, it has been 9 years now since my family left Bulgaria and arrived in California (March 29th to be exact). It is a long time and almost as long as my brother had lived in Bulgaria before we left (11 years). It has gone by fast but also slow as we have all gone through so much change. It is incredible that we have all struggled and worked hard and have achieved a comfortable state of life. My parents have overcome great language barriers and not having any life-long friends here to become settled and buy a home for themselves. My brother has had various part-time jobs, has very good high-school and college friends who hang out with him and keep in touch with him. He is in a respectable univerisity working towards a degree that will give him an opportunity to find a great job. I have had the burdens of translating, answering and making phone calls and even go to some interviews with my father to help him understand better, during our first 2-3 years in the United States. I have gone through difficult adaptation in high school and managed to get into UC Davis. College was an unforgettable experience but I experienced isolation, depression, and game addictions to earn my Bachelor degree. And now, thanks to all the hard work and support and love from my family, I am engaged to the best girl in the world and have an exciting first full-time job. No matter what happens with me regarding my eye/head situation, I am proud of my family and of myself for where I am at now.
