An entire weekend in one day

Yesterday the ewo had a one day frisbee tournament at Yale, New Haven, CT. we only had 9 people (one was sort of injured...) and there are 7 people on the field at a time, which means that all of us basically played all the time, with just one or two points here and there to rest. I don't know why our incredibly large team dwindled to such small numbers- stupid excuses like homecoming weekend and Jewish holiday, which is not true because it starts tonight and we played yesterday. So, anyways, we drove down friday night, stayed at one teammate's house. We then played an entire weekend's worth of games in one day with only 1 1/2 subs! The first three games were pool play, we had one by and played Yale and Brown. We won both those games (we were seeded 1st in our pool and 3rd overall). we also did not bring any new players because they all had lame excuses, so we were playing with what was left of last year's A-team. Anyways, after pool play, we had absolutely no break and went right into championship bracket play, starting with the quarterfinals. We won that game against Williams and then we won the semifinal game against Wellsely (we will play them about 10000 more times this season). Then, without any sort of break, we went straight into the finals against Cornell! And the best part of the day was when we beat them 15-6 in the finals and we only had 9 people with one injured, and they had about 15! It was so awesome! We got banana bread for winning, which we quickly devoured, and we were glad then that there was only 9 of us to divide the banana bread among. We then packed up the cars and left as the sun was going down. We stopped at a really awesome new york style deli, and I picked up some havlah (yum yum yum). We were all so exhausted, but it was still a Sat. night, so some of the team were talking about going out to a party, but we decided that we couldn't move. so the captain, c-chow was like "you should all come over to my house, and we can have a handicapped party where we just sit and drink" and everybody was like, "yes!" but sadly, by the time i actually showered and everything, it just did not seem worth walking all the way to their house just to sit and drink, and my friends bruni and caroline were getting together to go to the crafts house party, so i went with them, but could only stay for about 10 min. then i got back and fell so deeply asleep! anyways, now i am so sore, and i still have all the work that i didn't do saturday to do... that sucks.

p.s. becca- i wanted to call your brother and tell him about the tournament because he was so excited about ultimate frisbee, and you basically live at Yale to begin with, but I am an idiot and totally forgot until we were driving down on friday night at like 11, and i figured that was a little late to call your family! im so sorry, maybe another time, because it would be fun for josh to see a college level tournament
