Xmas and NYE 2011
I always choose to work so I don't have to face being stood up on the holidays.
This year, I received 2 awesome presents that filled my tiny heart with joy: the Consunjis and the Isidros.
Joanne Consunji commented on my NYC Christmas photos that she was going to be in town. I asked to spend Christmas day with her family. They haven't seen me since I was 15. Joanne and I went to Montessori together for a semester until I left. I had spent the holidays with her and her family twice because my mom worked around that time, at least that is what I recall. Thanks to Facebook, we were able to reconnect. Joanne didn't have a phone here so we would message each other thru FB.
Pauline Isidro posted a photo on her FB that she was in Time Square. I happened to log on a minute after she posted. I sent her a FB message,,got her number- next I'm having dinner with her family. Her parents were very close to mine and I was so happy to see them. They hadn't seen me in 10 years, since Pauline's debut.
Even with all that, its still my mom and brother that hasn't seen my life in NYC yet.
