Pathetic: Elliott is away at a conference in Newport for the next week, making this our longest separation since just after graduation when he moved up here a month before I did. That was 4 years ago. It's deathly quiet in the house; even the cats are quiet, which is fairly unusual. So I'm trying to keep myself occupied, and in some ways succeeding and in others, failing. I haven't begun doing housework yet, and that's stuff I'd be doing on a normal weekend while he was at lab.
Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to find a kind person on YouTub who had uploaded the new Torchwood Children of Earth, and I watched it straight through. Amazing. I called Tabs immediately afterward to rehash it. I heartily recommend it-- it's far darker and more intense than the previous two seasons, and it illustrates how far humanity can be pushed into doing something awful.
Today, I'm going to try and be more active. Once I get dressed I think I'm going to go for a walk, although I haven't decided where yet. I haven't been to Cass Park in a while, and certainly not since they found a body there. It's also likely to be crowded. There's Cornell Plantations, where we went a few weeks ago; I think it's not as big but it's more secluded. After I walk...wherever...I hope to go visit my friend at her new lakehouse and at least get some human company this weekend. Then it's home for another quiet night with the cats.
