[14] -> [voice]

[When the Doctor's voice first comes over the line, it's quiet and distant, as though he doesn't intend for the town to be hearing him right now. His voice sounds tired, but also full of a deep sadness]

Suppose it's over then, Old Girl. For now anyway, didn't go quite as well as I hoped but it was good to see that you were safe. Make sure to keep Grady or the Mayor or Lucy Smith from getting in, I don't think they'll try to destroy you, but mind yourself anyway. I'll get you back properly someday, I promise.

Until then, take care old friend.

[There is a strange warbling sound that can be heard, loud at first but eventually it fades completely. When the Doctor is heard again, his voice is loud, clearly intent on addressing the town, but there's still that tiredness that he's trying to hide.]'

So, how is everyone doing since Christmas ended? Rose, Empress, ...Sen, doing alright? Sorry, bad subject I know, but I need to know that most of you are alright. It was quite a nasty even for most of us and I assume that if you're like me, any big things you received have vanished by now. So most immediate dangers should be gone... for now anyway. If you're injured, I suggest you do something about it soon because a storm is coming, something else is going to happen here. You all heard the Post Man's message, didn't you? Sounds like a nasty bloke, I wouldn't trust him if I were you.

[There's a small pause as the Doctor groans slightly, but he quickly inhales to recover and continues speaking into the phone]

Tell me, what do we know about him? Obviously he runs the Post Shop, but what has he done besides that? He's never spoken before, or helped us, or even indicated in anyway that he was powerful enough to do what he claims. In fact, considering the nature of his shop, doesn't seem like he's really the type to help us. What's the point in sending us home? What's in it for him? If we leave, there's no one to trade away objects at the Post Office. Is he going to sacrifice anyone who wants to stay, so some of us can leave? What is he planning? We need to find out.

As for the ballots, I'd say don't vote on them, but either way, I think we're all in for a nasty bit of trouble regardless of what we do. So, just try to be smart about it by preparing for the worst, I know it's hard for some of you, but at least try. If you haven't voted, rip up your ballot or burn it or something to get rid of it. It's possible that the Post Man might try to break us into factions according to how we vote.

[He inhales again, sounding like he's on the verge of either passing out, but distinctly trying to hide it still. Though the facade is waning]

Don't take anything this town gives us at face value, we did that at Christmas and look at how most of us ended up. Let's not be stupid and make the same mistake twice, alright?
