[32] time after time

[Voice.]

[The Doctor comes on the line and it's almost hard to recognize that it's him. The usual cheery arrogance is completely gone, replaced by a maniac fear. He seems to be unsure of where he is or whom he is speaking to.]

Hello! Is anyone there?! Don't just stand around, answer the bloody phone!

Ah, there's there's been an accident. Someone's died, or t-they're hurt, I don't know. I think it's... Jade, Karket...Gamzee, or perhaps, Charles. Or... no, it's Adric. I don't know, it all happened so fast. It was just supposed to be a bit of fun, a nice day out... maybe a bit of adventure but then it went wrong...

Always goes... wrong. I don't mean for these things to happen, you know. There's just always trouble... no, I suppose I go looking for trouble don't I. Bring them in because I'm bored and need a mate and then... it all goes wrong. Everyone leaves... or dies. Never unscathed. I always say never again, but then it's always again. Always again.

I don't mean for it to happen... I didn't mean for Amy to be left behind, didn't mean for Rory to die, didn't mean for... River. For anything to happen to her, but it did, made her into the perfect weapon to kill the Doctor. The Doctor... the Doctor becomes a name that can turn armies around because they're so frightened.

That's not what I wanted. Just wanted to see stars, other planets, other people. That's all. Not a dark legend. Maybe I am becoming him, I can't help screwing up everyone I meet... Maybe that's why... my time is running out. Has run out.

Yes, someone's died. I die. On the shores of lake Silencio... An impossible astronaut...

Ah, my head, the clock won't stop ticking. Won't stop pounding in my head.

[Action at 1338 Benny Road.]

[The Doctor is sitting against the wall in his garage, door ajar, and head in his hands. Behind him is a smashed mirror and judging from his bloody hands it's clear how it was broken. He's messed up, someone is dead and it's his fault, as usual. He just wanted to have fun, to not be alone, to maybe try being a family man again and now... this. Their blood is on his hands.

And soon his own blood will be on someone else's hands. He covers his ears to try to drown out the ticking noise of a clock, which he can't seem to get out of his head. The ticking is counting down the time until until the time of his death. He sees it written everywhere, on the walls, on the floor, over the TARDIS. He can't escape it. His end is coming.

He's even written it on the floor with the blood all over his hands.
