I want to respond to your post, but I will first respond to this comment. Sorry I didn't read your journal earlier but I was away all weekend and just got home last night.
I really don't think that you need to worry about whether you're one of the elect. If you came to Christ, He accepted you. Joel 32:2/Acts 2:21/Romans 10:13: And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. Acts 16:31: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. Romans 10:9: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Don't worry. You are a work in progress and God isn't going to give up on you!
As for your original post, I echo the sentiments of the others who have posted on here: it's a relief that you were able to have a good serious talk with Courtney and get some things out.
Don't forget that the church shouldn't be full of people should claim to be good...we are the ones who admit that we're sinners. And as for you - well, you're admitting it readily. If there's one thing that I can say about you, it's that you always come back to God when you drift away. This seems like evidence that you are His.
I'd definitely be interested in your thoughts about what it really means to become a Christian. I hope to catch you on MSN sometime. Beyond that - well, you know my phone number!
