Ah, so its just about the middle of my California vacation and though this is only the very first time I've had access to a computer I've managed to have a pretty amusing time. As always the produce is delicious here... the cherries are really big. Also, this place, even though its felt like an oven just about the whole time we've been here, smells just wonderful in the evening. I've found this delicious salad that I absolutely love at a resturaunt near my grandmother's house...mmmm so good.
So, hmmm, what have I been doing? Well, we went to this beach place called Crab Cove with our little cousins but, alas, we could not swim because of some rediculous microbial being that causes "swimmer's itch" but it was pretty anyways. We saw some bulidings from the "gold coast" era... supposedly "historical" from the gold rush period. They were pretty but historcal might be a bit of a strech. The Peak House could beat them twice over any day.
We had dinner with my 23 year old cousin, and when he took us to the pool later, I was afraid we were going to run off the road as he zig-zagged down the little side roads like a maniac!
Then my grandfather had to get surgery around his eye, and had to go there for four days, so that wasn't much fun for him. :( But a few days later ome of my more vocal relatives, mainly my uncle Dan, came up from San Francisco bringing with him my, ummm well I suppose second cousin once removed, Billy and also my uncle Jimmy. We went to dinner and were so loud that I was extremely thankful I was indeed in California so that I wouldn't know anybody! But this was where I tasted my favorite salad for the second time :)
Anyhow, then I went up farther north to see my cousins in Novato (that's not the state, its a city in Marin county in california). That was amusing... we hung out in the tanning salon where my cousin Emily (18) works, (unbeknownst to my dissaproving mother of course). We saw more movies than I generally see in half a year, and ate more cookies than I generally eat... well nevermind... but it was fun because while Emily was working I got to drive their absolutely huge car cause my cousin Allison can't drive yet, as she is only (nearly) 15. Then some of Emily and some of Brendon (16)'s friends came over and had a grand old bash while thier parents were at work. Some at the party were intent upon getting poor Gabrielle and me a little bit tipsy, but I watched my glass of orange juice very carefully... it would not be a pretty sight if mother dear were to find out I'd been partying too hard, nor would it be appropriate for me to show up the next morning at my little cousin's house with a hangover. Not that I can afford to loose any IQ even for a temporary bit of time anyways.
So then we went to my Aunt, not Ant, Sue's house for a party for my grandparent's anniversery, and then we had a sleepover with my two cousins Gregory (nearly 10) and Juliet (7). (The ones that we went to the Crab Cove place with)They are such amusing little people and make my visit here quite fun. Just now Juliet has come into the room with a plate of chocolate teddy grams and is lining them up for me to eat like the evil aliens on this "Jimmy Neutron" program that we watched today. They are still little but, sniff, they are actually kind of growing up fast. I can still remember when ickle Gregory's favorite catch-all phrase was "Knock it off!" followed by a plastic animal being thrown across the room... and now he's older than when I first met him. Yikes! Its so funny how big I thought I was at eight years old. We went to the last half of Church... (oops) and then we went to this frozen yogurt place that's really quite tasty and we went shopping a bit. Then we got to go to thier pool down the street. Its so nice how much more exercize I get here rather than at school all the time!
So anyways I will be going home in only a week and a half, at which point I will have to crack the books and wrap some of this school work junk up so that I can enjoy the cape, unlike last year when I did nothing but history homework... speaking of which, I do really hope that I passed that AP test or Mr. Desorgher might have my head...
