And the carnage continues! Young men - cannon-fodder - still dying far from home for the same tired old reasons.
I was named for my uncle who died in the trenches in France during 'the Great War' - WW-I. He was only 22.
This plaque was sent to the British families of the fallen and was known as the "Dead Man's Penny" - and this one was left to me. I try to think about the young man I was named for every Remembrance day.
