madiownsyou Rating: PG-13 [for Safety]
Summary: The bus was empty. Not that they really had to worry about the other guys so much. Or the girls. But it was universally known that if you wanted people to keep your secrets, you had to at least pretend, at least a majority of the time, that there was no secret to keep.
Disclaimer: Fiction. I'm pretty sure Jason isn't this emo in real life.
Author’s Note: angst. =D
"What?" Jason wondered if he hadn't quite heard David right. "Now?" Jason tried to wrap his mind around the thought of Marrying David. As much as he desperately wanted to, he just couldn't.
"Not right now, of course. I don't know... maybe... maybe after tour sometime." It was apparent that this wasn't the first time David had thought about this.
"God, David." Jason buried his face in his hands. his dreads fell around his face. "I don't know if we should...if I could." Jason was visibly mixed up about the whole thing.
"Why not? I've never loved anyone, man or woman, as much as I love you, eyelashes. This makes sense!" David was firm in his conviction.
"How does it make sense?" Jason pleaded. "I'm 21 years old David, my career hasn't even started yet!" Jason tried to reason with his lover.
"So why should that --" David was cut off.
"BECAUSE David, it matters because I don't feel like having a career if the whole world is going to be against me. And I don't feel good about living a lie." Jason was raising his voice by this point.
"Shhhhhhh..." David attempted to calm Jason down. "Since when do you care what people think about you? You're Jason Castro for Christ's sake! Ten minutes ago you were ready to proclaim it to the whole world!"
"Since my father rejected me. Or did you forget that, David? I told my own FATHER about the most important thing in my life and he rejected me. How can I trust anyone to respect my decisions if I can't even trust my own family?" Jason stood up from David's lap. He walked away from David. He didn't want to be angry now. He didn't want David to see him angry. But he couldn't help it. It just hurt so damn much.
"ME Jason," David came around behind where Jason was standing and wrapped his arms around his waste. "You can trust me." David whispered into Jason's ear. "You can always trust me."
Jason turned his face away from David. "What if thats not enough?"
David picked up his hands and rested them on Jason's shoulders. He leaned his forehead into the back of Jason's hair. "If we really do love eachother, like we say we do, it will always be enough." David inhaled, taking in Jason's scent. Savoring it. David's tone changed suddenly.
"Well, you know.. that wasn't really an official proposal anyway."
"Oh?" Jason sounded more relieved than he wanted to.
"Jason promise me you'll think about it, okay?" Said David, "That's all I ask."
"I promise."
