Saturday, September 27th is the start of Banned Books Week. I checked out a
couple lists of frequently banned and challenged books, and realized I've read quite a few. Lauren has also read a few, and I plan to let her read more. Banning books is ridiculous. If someone doesn't want his or her child exposed to a certain book, then take responsibility; don't make the government do it for you.
Some of the books on those lists are ludicrous. Junie B. Jones? Really? It's a series for little kids! Lauren loved those books when she was in second and third grade. The things people go out of their way to find offensive never fail to amaze me.
