Piper's Hospital Room, Friday Evening

Sep 28, 2007 19:44

Piper was dreaming. At least that's what she thought when she was suddenly transported to a strange place with weird, golden light surrounding her. When she saw a figure walking toward her, she wasn't scared. She didn't know why. She just felt...safe.

The safe feeling turned to confusion when the figure turned out to be her handyman. Well, that was odd. "Leo? Am I dreaming?"

"No, you're not," he replied, reaching out to her. "Take my hands."

Then it suddenly dawned on her. "Oh my god. I'm dead, aren't I?"

"Not yet," Leo quickly replied. "Not if you take my hands right now."

He looked around, paranoid. Like he was hiding from something.

"I don't understand." Piper was truly lost and confused. There was also the fear of the unknown.

"This is the only way I can heal you," Leo said, still sort of looking over his shoulder. "This is the only chance of them not finding out. Hurry."

"Who?" Piper was still so confused.

"The Elders," Leo said simply, still reaching out for her.

Now she was starting to get it. "You're...you're a whitelighter?"

He nodded. "You're not supposed to know who I am, but...I can't let you die."

Piper didn't really want to die either. She wasn't ready to let go of her life, of the people she loves. She did as Leo instructed, reaching out toward him. She trusted him. It wasn't like she had much of a choice.

She watched as he held his hands above hers. They started to glow. She wondered if this was how Wyatt and Chris healed people. That's when she came to another realization as Leo was healing her. He was their father. He had to be. It made the most sense. Of course, it only added to her confusion. Did he know about Chris and Wyatt?

She had so many questions. She didn't get to ask any of them, though. The next thing she knew, she was sitting up in her hospital bed, gasping to life.

"Leo?" she called out, looking around the room for him. She didn't find him. Instead, she found Lindsey sitting beside her.

Oh crap.

Maybe he didn't hear what she said. The look of confusion on his face proved otherwise. Or maybe he was confused over her sudden recovery. That could be it.

"I should get the doctor," Lindsey said quietly, already headed toward the door.

"Lindsey, wait," Piper called after him, but he was already gone.

All she could do was facepalm.

She didn't have time to deal with anything right now as Dr. Williamson, the infectious disease specialist who had been treating her, came in to check on her. She could tell he was completely baffled by her sudden recovery. Even the bite mark on her shoulder was gone.

"How did this happen?" a random nurse asked.

"I don't know," Dr. Williamson replied. "But I'm gonna find out."

Piper couldn't tell him what happened, of course. "I guess it's a miracle."

He gave her a skeptical look.

"Can I go home?" Piper asked hopefully.

"Soon. We'll need to run more tests." Dr. Williamson looked at her. "You can see your friends and family, though."

Piper wasn't going to complain about that.
