Halliwell Manor, Thanksgiving

Piper really loved Thanksgiving. It gave her an excuse to help Grams in the kitchen. It also gave her another reason to bake. Of course, there would be brownies. And various pies.

Mostly, she was grateful to have something to take her mind of recent events she'd been dealing with. She was somewhat nervous, though. She had handwavily invited

Lindsey had seen some scary things during his time at Fandom High and after. Nothing had filled him with quite so much dread as meeting Piper's grandmother. Especially on a holiday. But here he was, on the doorstep, and it was too late to go back now. Might as well ring the doorbell, instead of standing out here all day, so that's what he did.

"Hi Lindsey," Piper greeted when she opened the door. She figured it might be less traumatic if she answered the door.

"Hey Piper," Lindsey replied, relieved to have a familiar face opening the door. He tried to look behind Piper to see if a kiss hello was safe, but decided he'd be safer settling for a hug. "Happy Thanksgiving."

"Happy Thanksgiving," Piper repeated. "I'm glad you came."

"So'm I. 'Course, my mother may never forgive me for missing dinner with the family," Lindsey said, "but I figure you're worth it."

"Well, maybe next time I can spend Thanksgiving with your family," Piper said, inviting him into the house.

"Sounds good," Lindsey said, stepping through the doorway.

"I think so, too," Piper said absently, looking around for her sisters or Grams. "Everyone eles should be around...somewhere."

"They lying in wait to all pounce on me at once?" Lindsey asked. He was kidding. Mostly.

"One at at a time would prolong your torment," Grams announced archly, sweeping into the foyer.

Lindsey's deer in the headlights look lasted only a few seconds before he put on what he had always considered his most charming smile and managed to reply. "That's very true ma'am. But I was hoping torment came after the turkey."

[pennyhalliwell]

"It's best over dessert," Grams agreed. She waved her hand toward the dining room. "Come, join us and take a seat at the table."

Lindsey glanced quickly over at Piper before nodding and heading towards the dining room. "Yes ma'am."

"It won't be so bad," Piper assured as she followed him to the dining room.

"Promise?" Lindsey mouthed, sitting down.

Piper nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. She only hoped she could keep that promise.
