Brown butter, salt and pepper, capers, and lemon juice. Easy and so good!

Carp benefits from strong flavorings--miso and ginger would also work well, either in your suggested soup(1) or as a sauce for grilling; leeks and such Asian greens as flowering broccoli are also frequent accompaniments.)
