I saw giant gummy bears for sale but...

With some patience, you can make your own over-sized gummy bears.
Is this cheaper than buying the big ones from the store? If you're frugal, perhaps.
Pimp that Snack!
The recipe is as follows (will need to tweek a bit):
  • Gummi Bears
  • Honey Bear containers
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Stainless Steel pans
  • Exacto Knife
The above quantities are unknown, but if you stuff a bunch of gummi bears into one container, that much and another 10% should be adequate for each when cooked.
Prep the containers with oil (pour small amount, cover, and shake the oil around) and set aside.
Separate the gummis by color.
Add just a dime sized drop of oil in each pan used then turn the heat on to low. Immediately drop the gummis in the pans. Do not stir, just gently shake. If you feel you must stir, use a stainless steel tea spoon.
When the mix is melted to a liquid consistency, pour the warm contents into the plastic bear containers. Pour slowly as not to splash it around. Allow each to cool for a few minutes before sealing the tops.
After allowing the mix to set for an hour or so (test from the top to see if it's firm), use an exacto knife to cut down the sides of the bear containers. You should now have a easy-to-open container for the new gummy bears. Give to friends and family. Remember to keep the bears cool or they will melt and stick to the honey bear containers.
* When the mix has melted nearly all the way, you may wish to add standard food coloring dye to strengthen or weaken the overall color - yellow dye to lighten the green mix, for example. Or you may add a white dye to give it a clouded look.

** You may also want to add a little flavor, or add sugar at the beginning of the cooking process. However, it should be noted that this will change the texture and flavor noticeably. Experiment with various gelatin products and flavorings carefully. You may find yourself throwing out some bad results. Flavorings can be found at many confectionery supply shops.

(any suggestions and personal experiences would be welcome)
