I like my pound cakes simple and dense - the traditional flour, eggs, butter, and sugar in a loaf pan. But I'd like to take that very basic recipe combo and add pumpkin. Here are the ingredients I use:
2 C flour
2 C sugar
5 eggs
1 C butter
2 tsp vanilla
Can I just add some pumpkin to this (I'm thinking maybe a half can & some spices), or should I reduce the butter or something? My goal is to keep the pound cake texture and not just make a pumpkin cake.
Any ideas? Thank you!
