I make a REALLY cheap pasta dish that is absolutely delicious.

1 box ditalini pasta
1 can stewed tomatoes (regular style)
1 large can diced tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1/2 a small onion
1 lb ground beef or chicken (optional, its darn tasty either way)

If you're using beef, brown this off, and put aside.
add a little oil to the bottom of the pan, and slowly cook the garlic cloves whole until they turn a little brown, and soft.

add can of stewed tomatoes and smash with potato masher along with the garlic to incorporate.

add the can of diced tomatoes, juice and all

add 1cup of water, and bring to a boil, and add the onion, diced.

lower to a simmer, and cook for 10 minutes until the onions have softened.

dress your pasta with olive oil if you have it, and mix in with the sauce

This makes ALOT of food if its only for one person, so you'll have leftovers to carry you a few days, which is key to keeping food cheap.

Keep in mind, if you make it with meat, it will only store for 3 or 4 days in the fridge, but if you make it with just the tomatoes, it can store for a week or so.
