This is my last full week at my job. I'll be here part time for the next few weeks and then I'll be using up my sick and vacation time. I am so ready to leave. My duties just increased from coordinating 11 studies to coordinating 13 studies, and I'm just about done here. Thank you. But I can't afford him on a research coordinator's salary. He's priceless. Maybe I could find coupons.

I mean that anything counts! I mean, everything is BOUGHT with paper, so it's ALL good, in a way!

You could get him graphic novels or nerdhammer books, too.

I guess that paper is relatively easy. In later years you have to get stuff that's made of tin, steel or linen. I guess that in comparison paper is cake. Though most marriages probably end before you get to the difficult gift years. My parents only made it to the wool year.

If you look online, they have tables of the traditional year's gift that are translated to modern-day equivalants. So for example, you used to give wool, and now you give desk sets. That is so romantic. "Honey, here is a desk set that represents...um...our lives...um...you are the tape of my soul...you're a real staple of my heart...oh, I give up". Man, there is a whole new set of rules to learn now.
