    I tried Brussels sprouts last night, and I can see why so many people disdain them. It mostly tasted like bad broccoli. I tried mashed turnips tonight and they almost had a sweet broccoli flavor; quite a step up from Brussels sprouts. It makes sense that they taste like broccoli though, they're all in the mustard family, genus Brassica.  Oh the  things you can learn when you eat vegetables.
