Notes: Written for the contrelamontre 'parallel dialogue' challenge in 60 minutes. This is my first proper slash - I'm working my way up to NC-17 - and my first real person fiction. Written in about 45 minutes, with 15 mins to beta and spell check.



Legolas stepped out into the chill air, but Elessar was already waiting.

"Where are you going?"

The elf paused to watch an autumn leaf drift by.

"Home."

"I thought you'd stay, after..."

After the war was won. After all his kin had taken ships from the Havens. What was left for him in
the place he called home? An empty forest?

"I don't belong here." He cast his gaze out, taking in the great city in a single glance. "You
do."

His golden hair was caught on the breeze as he mounted his steed, and moments later he was gone.

Orlando's eyes fluttered open to see Viggo pulling on his shirt, nimble fingers fastening the
buttons.

"Where are you going?"

Viggo turned his wolf-like gaze on the boy in the bed.

"Home."

Sadness was etched on the young man's face.

"I thought you'd stay, after..."

After their night of passion? When Orlando had made a whore of himself for the older man?

Viggo kissed him tenderly on the mouth, his hands staying at his sides, and when Orli tried to
hold him he pulled away.

"I don't belong here."

He was already leaving when the pleading voice said "You do".
