Chapter: 27/?
Synopsis: Neither one, Kouyou or Yuu really remembered them, but Shinji and Naoyuki still kept an eye on them when they had nothing else to do. Kouyou had lost his fairies when he turned ten because he no longer needed his magical fairies to help him. In other words, he had gotten too old and they had to be assigned to another child. The most they could do for Kouyou was watch him from afar and use limited magic to help him, but only in situations when he was in danger. He wasn’t in danger too often --at least not since Takashi’s memory was erased so he didn’t remember how he managed to break his arm, and Kouyou had no idea either'.
Comment: At the end.
“Have I ever told you how brilliant you are?” Manabu looked over at Toshimasa as they stood behind a tree watching Takashi and Aki approach Kazuki. He was almost bouncing with excitement because he was just about to watch Kazuki get what was coming to him. After all, he had been waiting for this moment for awhile now. What could be more entertaining than watching someone beat the living daylights out of that manwhore?
“Hmm, not that I know of, but you can go ahead and let me know.” Toshimasa smiled his toothy smile and wrapped his arms around the smaller man from behind. Even though this looked like the end of his little plan, he had so much more to do. After Kazuki was beaten up, he would run off to his so-called ‘people’ and demand they fix his reputation. All he had to do was sit back and wait for Kazuki to run off whoever it was, then use his own charm to get them. Wouldn’t that be difficult though? If they were Kazuki’s people, then they more than likely knew of the competition between the two. Getting them on his side would be hard.
“How about I tell you once everything is over?” Manabu rolled his eyes. Kazuki was sitting next to Shin. He could feel his blood boiling. Kazuki wasn’t supposed to be with him. Even if they weren’t together anymore, it still pissed him off that Kazuki had lied to him yet again. Manabu just didn’t get it; what was so great about torturing Shin all the time? The kid was obviously too much of a wimp to actually do anything to help himself. Why would anyone waste time on someone like him? There was a time Manabu actually wanted to help him, and he still did, but now that he thought about, Shin really wouldn’t be in such a mess if he’d just fight against Kazuki. It wasn’t that hard. Manabu and Kazuki had gotten into countless fights in the past, and Manabu was never afraid of the other man. He may have been powerful, but Kazuki was worthless half of the time.
“Shit.” Toshimasa muttered and moved so he was standing in front of the tree. “What the hell is he doing?!” Yuu was walking toward Kazuki with a look that meant he was ready to kill him. Yeah, it was going to help him out in the long run, but Takashi was supposed to be kicking Kazuki’s ass, not Yuu.
“Yuu is best friends with Yutaka. He probably just found out what has been going on. They haven’t been seen together very often.” Manabu chimed in as he too moved to get a better look. He plopped himself down on the grass and began pulling at the blades. He had noticed Yuu, but he never really paid attention to him. All he knew about the other man was that no one should make him mad. Apparently he had a really bad temper, and if he got too mad, no one was able to calm him down.
“Do you think this is going to ruin our plans?”
“Doubt it. If Yuu beats him up, and Takashi and Aki do as well, it’ll look like they’re working together. Kazuki won’t suspect us of anything. He’ll think Yuu is pissed because of the situation with Yutaka and Shin, and he doesn’t know shit about Takashi and Aki.”
Toshimasa smirked when the three men began beating Kazuki as if he were nothing. He didn’t even put up much of a fight, if any. “This is almost pathetic. It’s too easy.” He muttered to himself and crossed his arms over his chest. No, he didn’t talk to Takashi just because he wanted Kazuki to get beaten up. The whole point as to see who Kazuki spoke to in order to fix his reputation. If he wanted Kazuki to simply get beaten to a bloody pulp, he could have done that himself. In time he probably would for all the bullshit Manabu was put through.
“He must have known something was going to happen when Yuu walked up to him. He didn’t suspect a thing with the other two. Don’t you see what’s happening here? Kazuki is letting them beat him up so he can look like the victim. You watch; tomorrow everyone will be all over him.” Manabu shook his head with a dry laugh. “The bastard makes me sick.”
“And that’s okay.” Toshimasa grinned and turned on his heel, motioning for the other man to follow. “While he’s busy acting like the victim and basking in the attention of all the girls he’s not even interested in, we’ll be taking his people and turning them against him.”
Manabu followed the taller man and looked over his shoulder at the pitiful mess Kazuki had become. “After he’s released from the nurses office, he’ll more than likely-”
“I just thought of something!” Toshimasa suddenly turned around with a smile. “Y’know, when I was knocking on your classroom door, you and Kazuki looked like you were getting along. You guys have known each other for so long that you’re both able to look pass your breakup, right?”
Manabu sighed and shook his head. “Are you telling me you want me to pretend to be concerned?” This was a bad idea. Anything could happen, and if Kazuki thought he cared he would think Manabu wanted to be with him again. When he found out Manabu was only pretending, he would personally beat the hell out of him.
“You know me too well. It’ll work out! You’ll be with Kazuki. He’ll think you’re taking care of him, but you’ll really be keeping him out of my way.” Toshimasa clapped his hands in excitement. “Go wait outside the nurses office, and leave the rest to me.” Manabu bit his lip, but nonetheless did as he was told. Somehow he couldn’t feel that this whole thing was just stupid. Because if Manabu was with Kazuki, Kazuki wouldn’t talk to his people.
---
He didn’t like how the nurse was looking at him as if he were some weakling. Whether he hated it or not, he plastered a smile on his face and winced as his lip began to sting and bleed once more. That Shiroyama kid had one coming to him for this, and those other two guys. Kazuki didn’t really know who they were, but he also didn’t care. They made him look pathetic because he wasn’t able to defend himself. Their grip on him was too tight, and no one around was going to help him.
“Just to make sure you’ll be alright, I want you to stay here for the next couple of classes.” The nurse was dabbing at his bleeding lip. As nice as it sounded to skip a few classes and make all the students worry about him, he would rather do his work and pretend as if nothing had happened. The nurse was a bit annoying anyways.
“I’m fine, really.” It wasn’t like he hadn’t been in a fight before. He and Manabu had fought multiple times, especially before they began dating. There were times Manabu had given him a bloody nose, a busted lip, and two black eyes. His current split lip and non-stop bleeding nose was nothing. It was a bit annoying that his nose was bleeding so much that it looked like he was a lot more hurt than he actually was.
“No, no~” The nurse shook her finger and threw away the bloodied tissue in her hand. “You just stay right here and rest. Your nose is still bleeding, and you can’t go to class if you’re going to be dripping blood all over the place.” Kazuki rolled his eyes and stared up at the ceiling. Was there even a plus side to staying in the nurses office all day?
“Fine.” He muttered and closed his eyes, “but I’m taking a nap. It’d be wise to not wake me up. Y‘know what? Just don‘t bother me at all.” His right hand continued to hold a towel over his nose as he tried his best to fall asleep. It wasn’t a good idea since his nose was still bleeding, but it beat having a conversation with the nurse.
He sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He never liked it when his nose bled because it took forever for it to stop. He hated breathing through his mouth even more than he hated nosebleeds.
‘I’m going to kill that damn Shiroyama kid. I know exactly what I’m going to do.’ He almost chuckled when he felt a hand on his and another hand threading through his hair.
“Go away.” He muttered and turned his body to the side even though the nurse told him to stay on his back.
“No.” He cracked open his eyes and glanced over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow.
“What are you doing here?” Kazuki rolled his eyes and closed them again. This day was just getting more and more annoying. First he was beaten up for doing absolutely nothing, then he wasn’t allowed to go to class, and now his ex-boyfriend was bothering him.
Manabu sat down on the bed next to Kazuki while his hand rested on Kazuki’s thigh. “I was worried about you. I saw what happened. By the time I got outside I was too late, and the teachers were already pulling everyone off you. Are you okay?” The smaller man was lying through his teeth so easily that it wasn’t even funny. Luckily Kazuki wasn’t looking at him otherwise he would know for sure Manabu was lying to him. It wasn’t easy to lie to someone like Kazuki, although Manabu had done it before, so he had to be careful with what he said.
“I’m fine.” Kazuki mumbled and turned around so he was on his back again. “My nose won’t stop bleeding.” He almost pouted as he opened his eyes and stared at his former lover.
“You always did have bad luck with that. Here, let me see.” Manabu took away the towel to inspect the other man’s nose. It wasn’t as if he knew what to do to make it stop; he was just trying to buy time so Toshimasa could do whatever the hell it was he was doing.
“I don’t see why you’re here.” Kazuki ripped the towel out of Manabu’s hand with a small glare. It didn’t make sense that Manabu would be worried about him. He made it clear that he didn’t care about Kazuki anymore when he cheated on him with Toshimasa. “Won’t what’s-his-face be mad when he finds out you’re here?”
“He won’t find out.” Manabu sighed and shook his head. “Look, I was just worried about you. I know you always told me not to worry about you because you knew what you were doing, but three against one wasn’t even fair. If everyone in this school loves you so damn much, they should have helped out.”
Kazuki laughed bitterly and sat up so Manabu had more room to sit. He motioned for the other boy to sit at the end of the bed. “They don’t actually care, Manabu. Before when they thought I was straight, everyone loved me because I was attractive and I have money and power. Now that people know I’m gay, they just fear me because of what I could do if they got on my bad side. Maybe I deserved this today. I sure as hell would have deserved it more if it were you beating up than someone else. Other than Shin and Yutaka, you’re the only other person who has any reason to want to hurt me.” The taller boy shrugged his shoulders and leaned his head back.
“Then maybe it’s time you change. Show people that you’re not just some rich asshole who gets off on power. Stop bullying people just because you can, and stop using people. That’s what’s ruined everything for you in the first place. If you would have just stopped pushing Shin around and left him and Yutaka alone, then I never would have left. I could deal with you going on dates with girls you didn’t care about because I knew you were really gay, but I couldn’t stand the fact you were dating Shin because he’s a guy too. It didn’t matter if you loved him or not; you were still with someone else while you were with me. That’s why I cheated on you. I wanted to show you how it felt. Now do you understand why you have to stop?” Manabu looked hopeful for a moment. Even if he wasn’t with Kazuki anymore, he still wanted to help the other man to better himself. If Kazuki would just listen to him and stop all his madness, then people wouldn’t have a problem with him.
“So you never intended to actually have a relationship with Toshimasa?” It was almost as if Kazuki hadn’t heard anything else Manabu had said. The younger man hung his head and ran a hand through his hair.
“Not in the beginning, no. I just wanted to get back at you, and I went to the café just to get away and think. Toshimasa works there, and that’s how we met.”
Kazuki laughed, “You knew he was easy, I’m assuming. That boy will go for anyone if he thinks they’re interested. He always says he goes through so many guys because he’s trying to find one that loves him, but you can’t tell me you believe that. Eventually some other guy will walk by that’s somehow more attractive than you, and Toshimasa will shove you off to the side as if you’re nothing. He does it all the time. I can’t believe you fell for something like that.” The other man continued to laugh as Manabu stared at the floor.
“Toshimasa wouldn’t do that to me.” He shook his head and bit his lip. Toshimasa wouldn’t leave him, right? But then again Toshimasa did say he would pay Takashi back for what he had done to Kazuki, so maybe Kazuki was right, or maybe he was just screwing with Manabu’s head.
Kazuki stopped laughing and reached forward to rest his hand on Manabu’s shoulder. “I didn’t say it to upset you.” He spoke honestly, “All I’m saying is he has a reputation. He’s no different than me, so I would be the person who knows what he’s up to. You don’t think he’d hurt you, but you never expected me to hurt you like I did. Manabu, you trust people too easily. You hardly even know him; how can you supposedly love him? How can you even be in a relationship with someone you don’t know? We knew each other for years before we started dating. Do you remember what you said to me when I first said I liked you?”
Manabu shook his head and breathed in before looking up.
“You said ‘I can’t date you yet. We may have known each other since we were kids, but that doesn’t mean I know you enough to date you.’ It took another year and a half before you thought you knew me well enough to date. How can you tell me all that, but take in Toshimasa as if it’s nothing?” Kazuki’s eyes locked with Manabu’s before the nurse was approaching them with a disapproving look.
“Kazuki, you’re supposed to be lying down!” She forced the student to lie down again and pointed her finger at Manabu. “Shouldn’t you be in class?”
Kazuki swatted at her hand and glared, “He doesn’t have to be in class if he doesn’t want to. Didn’t I tell you not to bother me?” He raised an eyebrow at the nurse almost as if he were challenging her to say something to him, but she turned on her heel and headed back to her desk.
“I suppose you’re going to go back to what you normally do after your reputation is ruined, huh?” Manabu played with his fingernails as he changed the topic. He didn’t want to think Toshimasa was just using him; he didn’t want to think Kazuki was right.
“No.” Kazuki shook his head and turned on his side so he was looking at the other boy. “You’re right; I need to change and stop everything I’ve been doing. Whether you believe me or not, I’ve been thinking about everything you’ve ever said to me. You were right when you said I wasn’t a good lover to you because I’ve always put my reputation before you. I hid our relationship because I didn’t want people to know I was gay, and I know it bothered you because we couldn’t be more open about it like some of the other gay guys in the school. Everything you ever said was true, but I was too stupid to listen to you.”
Manabu stared trying to figure out if Kazuki was seriously being honest or if this was another one of his games. “Did those three really knock some sense into you?” He raised an eyebrow. Kazuki rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“I’ve been prepared for someone to snap and kick my ass. I figured it would have been Yutaka, so I was ready. I knew I needed to change after you left again. You were right when you said you were the only person I ever loved, and I knew I fucked up big time when you said you found someone else. You’re the reason I opened my eyes. Haven’t you noticed that I haven’t been doing anything lately? I haven’t hurt Shin, I haven’t been following him everywhere, I haven’t tried to sabotage your relationship, I haven’t put a hit out on Toshimasa; I realized you were right about everything, but I know that isn’t going to bring you back. You said you don’t love me anymore, and there’s nothing I can do to change that. So what’s the point? If I don’t have you anymore, then what’s the point?”
Manabu laughed softly and shook his head, “You’re such an idiot.” He smiled down at other man before looking back at his hands. If that was all it took for Kazuki to open his eyes and see he was in the wrong, then Manabu should have thought of leaving him sooner.
“I’m aware of that, thank you.” Kazuki frowned and closed his eyes when Manabu reached forward and took the towel away from his nose.
“It stopped bleeding. I’ll clean you up, then we can go back to class together.” The smaller man stood from the bed and grabbed a clean towel from the sink and got it wet before he began cleaning the blood off Kazuki’s face. “This time promise me you’ll stop. Don’t just tell me you will because you know it’s what I want to hear. Let Shin go back to Yutaka, and stop terrorizing people because you think it’s fun. You don’t even have to tell Shin’s parents what you’ve been doing.”
Kazuki’s hand wrapped around Manabu’s wrist, pulling the wet towel away from his face. “I’ll do it, but you have to come with me so I can show you I’m being serious.”
“Alright, then after school I’ll meet you at the gate.”
---
“I can’t believe Yuu did that.” Takanori was copying something out of his textbook as he glanced over at his lover who was sitting in front of him. They were working on some group assignment, so they had their desks moved so they were facing each other. Yutaka was sitting next to Takanori and Kouyou was sitting next to Akira. Yuu had been sent to Yasu’s office for being the one who supposedly started the fight. Kouyou wasn’t happy when he watched Yuu stomp off to the office. Surprisingly, Shin had managed to disappear somewhere because he was supposed to be in class with Yutaka; not all of their classes could be changed, to Yutaka’s delight. Regardless of the demand from Shin’s mother, Shin still had Science with Yutaka.
“He’s so screwed.” Kouyou bowed his head and covered his face with his hands. “He’s going to get suspended if Yasu decides to take it easy on him. Yuu’s gotten into so many fights this year that Yasu will probably just expel him and call it a day. If he does that, what am I supposed to do all damn day?” The blonde pouted as he tried his best to focus his attention on his work.
“You still have us.” Akira patted his friend on the shoulder briefly. “I know we’re not the same, but at least you won’t be alone. Taka and I are with you pretty much all day.”
“Yeah, and I know how to distract you from your pretty boy.” Takanori winked and wiggled his pencil around in the air. “Hey, did anyone see where Shin ran off to?” He suddenly asked; he would be the last one to notice Shin was missing from the class since they usually worked in a group of six instead of four.
Yutaka shrugged as he wrote down his answers quickly. “I’m not sure where he would have gone since he can’t go to his house. His mother would kill him. By the way, the answer to number ten is cleavage.”
Takanori snorted. “Cleavage? You mean like… a boobs, right? Can I draw a picture to demonstrate? Because I’m an artist.” Akira reached across the table and slapped his lover upside the head.
“Have you been paying attention to the lesson during the past week? Sensei taught us about rock cleavage a few days ago, and you’re just now thinking it’s funny?” Akira raised an eyebrow as Takanori shrugged.
“Really,” Kouyou spoke up, “the entire class was cracking up over it the other day!”
“Yeah, and Sensei looked over at you and waited for you to say something inappropriate.” Yutaka chimed in. Takanori pursed his lips as he thought.
“Must have been asleep.” The smaller boy shrugged before he went back to doing his work. The other boys rolled their eyes and went back to their work as well.
“I was too shocked to even do anything.” Akira spoke after ten minutes of silence between the boys aside from the answers they were giving one another. Kouyou glanced over at his friend and smirked because no one should have been shocked that Yuu practically tried to kill Kazuki.
The blonde finished writing his answer with a laugh. “Seriously? It’s not just because he hurt Yutaka. That was the main reason, though. Yuu hates Kazuki, but he never says anything about it because, as stupid as it sounds, he hates conflict.” The four boys giggled at the thought because Yuu loved a good fight.
“Why would Yuu hate Kazuki?” Yutaka put his pencil down and leaned back in his chair. He knew Yuu hated a lot of people, but he didn’t know his best friend had any anything against Kazuki.
Kouyou giggled nervously and scratched the back of his neck. “I may have let it slip that I sort of had a crush on him, but that was before I knew he was screwing up your relationship. You know how jealous Yuu can get.” He rolled his eyes and smirked because even if it was annoying that Yuu got extremely jealous over something so stupid, it was sort of cute. “As if I’d really leave him for someone else. How stupid does he think I am?”
Takanori held up a hand, “To be honest, you do make yourself look pretty stupid sometimes. It’s no wonder he doesn’t take you seriously half the time. I mean, have you seen the way you excitedly skip down the street when you want to tell him something? You do it a lot. Akira and I were once walking over to Yuu’s house to return a video game, and you were skipping down the street like a deranged little girl.” Takanori snorted, “I couldn’t picture anyone else putting up with that.”
Kouyou pouted at the words. He wasn’t that strange. But then again, Yuu always said it was the strange things he did that made him like Kouyou so much in the first place. It wasn’t all about his looks. “I don’t skip like that, midget.” He stuck his tongue out.
Takanori’s eye twitched, “Listen here pretty boy, I’ve done it once and I’ll do it again. If you don’t stop calling me a damn midget, I’ll jump over this table at you, and this time I will rip your eyes out and shove them down your throat.”
“Why is he always so vicious?” Yutaka’s eyes were wide as he looked over at a shrugging Akira.
“That’s like asking why Shin is so shy. They’re just like that even though there’s no reason to be. Takanori is a cute and vicious midget, and Shin is a cute and shy midget. Different midgets come with different personalities, just like us big people.” Akira snorted when Takanori glared as kicked him from under the table.
“You’re such an ass. I don’t even know why I bother with you these days.” Takanori mumbled and decided to go back to his work. “Fucking bastard anyways.”
“You love me, remember?” Akira rubbed his abused leg and debated on kicking his lover back. “I’m not the one who confessed his love to me in front of everyone countless times.”
“That’s because if you did, everyone would think you have a huge ego and not like you.” Takanori stated matter-of-factly. “It’s common sense.”
“That’s not what I meant!”
Kouyou rolled his eyes and nudged Yutaka’s arm with his pencil. The other boy turned his attention away from the quarreling lovers and rolled his eyes as well. It was probably a smart idea to ignore the two lovers and get their work done before they had to take it home for homework.
“Number sixteen is fracture.” Yutaka muttered across the table to the blonde. He scribbled down his answer and moved on to the next problem. There was no way he wasn’t going to get his work done on time. Whether he had personal issues to deal with or not, his school work always came first. Sure he needed to sort out all the problems in his life now, but he also needed to get into a good college and make something out of himself.
“Do you know what you’re going to do now?” Kouyou spoke softly as he briefly looked up from his textbook. He continued to write down his answers as Yutaka sighed and shook his head. What could he do? He couldn’t help himself; he still wanted to be with Shin even if it seemed completely pointless.
“I don’t know what to do. For once I don’t know where to go next. When it came to Shin, I always had some plan up my sleeve to make sure everything was alright, but after all this… I just don’t know.”
“Try talking to him again. He stood up to Yuu, so maybe he’s grown a pair. Or maybe you can push his buttons and test your limits. Piss him off.” Kouyou nodded with a smile because he was brilliant.
“And how do you suppose I do that?” Yutaka deadpanned. “The answers to the multiple choice are A, B, D, C, C, B, A, C, A, B, D, C, D, A, B, A, C, D, A.”
Kouyou tilted his head to the side. “Shit, dude, just give me your paper.” he rolled his eyes as Yutaka slid his paper across the table. “Make him jealous. Make out with someone in front of him.”
“That would hurt him.”
“Use force.”
“That would hurt him.”
“Hit him a couple of times.”
“Kouyou, that would hurt him.”
“Tie him to your bed and fuck his brains out! Show him who he belongs to and make sure he never forgets it!” Kouyou squealed as he wrote his answers.
Yutaka slammed his head on the table and sighed heavily. Was this the sort of thing Yuu had to deal with on a daily basis because he totally couldn’t deal with it himself. This was the man his best friend was in love with?
“Do you think before you speak or is there a midget wrestling match going on up there?” Yutaka muttered against the desk before receiving a sharp slap to his shoulder.
“Enough with the midget remarks!” Takanori yelled. “You all are fuckers.”
“Language~” Akira tsked, shaking a finger.
“Yeah, people of your size shouldn’t use such words. That’s bad, sweetie.” Kouyou slid Yutaka’s paper across the table and reached over the table to slap Takanori on the hand like he was a child. “Bad Taka.”
“I hate you, Kouyou.” Takanori pouted childishly as his friends laughed at him. “I hate all of you, and your moms.”
“Pfft~” Yutaka waved his hand, “You know he’s a baby when he resorts to insulting our moms.”
“You stupid fucking jackasses!” Takanori stabbed his pencil into the desk with a glare.
---
“What do you mean he’s not going to do anything?!” Toshimasa followed Manabu to his locker. This had to be some sort of lie because Kazuki never let something like this happen without getting revenge.
“Exactly that; he’s not going to do anything. He’s learned his lesson, but not because of what happened today.” Manabu spoke over his shoulder as he turned the dial on his lock. Ever since he and Kazuki had gone back to class, he had been thinking. Kazuki seemed like he was really being honest about changing, and Manabu was willing to go with his former lover to see him tell Shin he was off the hook.
“He’s just messing with your head, Bu-chan. You should already know that! He’s been messing with your for years. I wouldn’t be surprised if your whole relationship was just a sham.” Toshimasa spoke bitterly. His entire plan was now ruined because Kazuki was supposedly not going to do anything. Now how was he supposed to find out who Kazuki’s people were? How was he supposed to bring the man down?
Manabu’s hand clutched his locker door as he threw his books into the locker. “Kazuki loved me.” He spoke through gritted teeth. “Kazuki and I had a good relationship while it lasted.” He all but spat at the other man. No one knew the details of his previous relationship but him and Kazuki.
Toshimasa shrank back a bit and bit his lip, “I didn’t mean to make you mad. It’s just, he can’t be trusted so easily. He‘s played you once and he‘ll play you again.”
‘Manabu, you trust people too easily.’ Kazuki’s words rang through Manabu’s head as he stared blankly into his locker. He was so confused: was Kazuki just lying again, or was Toshimasa just using him? Which one could he trust if both had a history of just using people?
“Manabu, I’m sorry. I know it sounds hypocritical but-”
Manabu turned around and slammed his locker and adjusted his book bag on his shoulder. “I gotta go. I’m hanging out with the guys tonight. I’ll see call you later.” He leaned up and pecked the other man on the lips quickly before darting down the hallway.
This was just stupid.
---
Kazuki was standing at the gate waiting for Manabu. This was where he met Shin every day as well, so he could hurry up and just get this over with. He leaned against the gate with his arms crossed over his chest as he scanned the school yard for either boy.
“You sure did get your ass kicked.” Kazuki looked to behind him and smirked. The smaller student was trying his best to hide his amusement, but it was clear that he thought the whole thing was funny now that it was over.
“A decent man refuses to fight back.” Shin snorted at the words and held up his hand.
“Decent?” The smaller man laughed again.
“Oh shut up.” Kazuki pouted and looked at the school building. “We’re waiting for Manabu today.”
Shin rolled his eyes and waved his hand, “No, you’re waiting for Manabu. I’m going out for awhile.” Shin turned his back as a hand was placed on his shoulder. He sighed and glared. He shouldn’t have even gone back to school. After what he said to Yuu, Shin decided to just ditch school for the rest of the day. He hadn’t been in the mood for school in the first place, so it was a relief that Kazuki had all the attention on him long enough for Shin to slip away without a teacher noticing.
Kazuki’s eyes turned into slits. He hated it when Shin spoke to him in that tone. Even if he had no intentions of hurting the smaller student, he still wasn’t going to let someone talk to him like that.
“Awe, what’s wrong?” Shin smirked over his shoulder. “Afraid to wait for him by yourself? Are you worried that Big Bad Yuu is going to come back for a round two?” The smaller student laughed as the vein in Kazuki’s forehead began throbbing, but no, he wasn’t going to do a damn thing. He had told Manabu he was going to stop, and he meant it this time.
“No. I’m not afraid of that damn Shiroyama kid. You need to stay here because I need to prove something to Manabu.” Kazuki tried his best to speak in a calm tone, but the amused look on Shin’s face was making him more and more angry.
Thankfully there was a tap on his shoulder, and Shin stopped laughing. “Sorry if I’m a little late.” Manabu bowed slightly and stood up straight to smile over at Shin.
“You’re not late.” Kazuki smiled and leaned against the gate again. Manabu stood in front of him with his arms crossed over his chest while Shin stood with his hands in his pockets. He had no idea what these two were up to, but knowing Kazuki, it was probably nothing good.
“Zuki, you can do it now.” Manabu raised an eyebrow and nodded his head toward the smaller student. Kazuki took a deep breath and let it out because this wasn’t something he usually did, nor was it something he was comfortable doing. For pretty much all his life, he had been mean to Shin, and being nice to him all of a sudden was definitely a change, not to mention something he wasn’t exactly comfortable doing. Kazuki knew he had to do it though.
“Do what?” Shin was almost afraid to find out. This could be it for him. Kazuki could kill him on the spot for some strange reason. If Kazuki was going to do something bad again, then Shin would just have to stand up to him. Kazuki was a lot scarier than Yuu though. Shin knew Yuu and how nice he usually was, so standing up to him was nothing. Kazuki was an entirely different story.
Kazuki ran a hand through his hair and turned so he was facing the smaller man. “You’re off the hook. I’m done torturing you just to amuse myself, so you can go back to your normal life with Yutaka.” Kazuki was surprised when Shin suddenly shoved him against the gate, but he was even more surprised when Shin punched him square in the face.
“Do you think it’s that easy?” Shin yelled as Manabu held him back from further hitting Kazuki. Kazuki had had enough physical abuse for one day. “It doesn’t matter if you’re done! You ruined everything! Yutaka and I aren’t together anymore because of you, and you’ve turned my parents against me. They don’t believe a damn word I say because of you, and they hate Yutaka when he never did a fucking thing. And you think I can just go back to my normal life and act like none of this ever happened?”
Manabu tsked and shook his head at his former lover. “This is what happens when you’re an asshole, Kazuki. I told you to leave the poor kid alone. You’ve completely fucked up his life.”
“Oh please.” Kazuki glared at Manabu before turning his attention back to Shin. “Just talk to Yutaka, and I’ll talk to your-”
“Stay the hell away from my parents. I don’t trust you. Knowing you, you’ll just go in there and lie even more and make them disown me.” Shin spat as he elbowed Manabu in the ribs hard causing the other man to let go of him. “You’re fucking pathetic Kazuki. I hope you get what you deserve because I’m not going to rest until you do.”
Kazuki watched as Shin walked away from the school and shrugged. “That went better than I expected.” He turned to Manabu and smirked. Manabu was rubbing his ribs and wincing.
“That kid has fucking bony elbows.” Manabu muttered. “So I guess you are serious about this.” He bit his lip and smiled softly.
“I told you I was.”
Manabu turned to leave the school and motioned for Kazuki to follow him. “I’m hanging out with the guys tonight. You should come with me. It’s been awhile since we’ve all hung out together, and you could use some time away from everything.”

Kouyou glared at the cell phone in his hand. Yuu had been sent home after the incident, and his mother decided to actually punish her son for once. She usually didn’t care what he did, but she didn’t care for fighting, and she never did. Yuu was grounded. He wasn’t allowed to leave the house unless it was for work, and he also wasn’t allowed to have anyone over. Kouyou could care less. He was going to have a talk with Yuu one way or another.
He didn’t even bother to stop by his own house first. If he went to his house, he would more than likely get stuck doing something for his mother. Shoving his phone into his pocket, he headed in the direction of Yuu’s home. Kouyou didn’t even know where to start. There were so many things he wanted to confront Yuu about, but he knew he had to start with that damn fight. Regardless if Yuu was pissed because Yutaka was upset, Yuu had no business jumping in.
When he got to Yuu’s house, he wasn’t surprised that Mrs. Shiroyama had answered the door. She looked at Kouyou’s angry form and tilted her head. “Oh, what else did he do?” She moved aside to let the blonde in because it was always best to just let Kouyou do as he pleased when he was pissed off about something.
“Everything.” Kouyou ran a hand through his hair. “You know how difficult relationships can be, but your son is just too difficult to deal with sometimes. I swear, I’m about to go up there and wrap my hands around his throat and squeeze until he’s begging for mercy.” He placed his hands over his face and breathed in deeply because he knew he was just getting worked up. If he went up to Yuu’s room while he was this angry, he would probably end up beating the hell out of his lover.
“I know he can be difficult. I already lectured him about fighting. Ever since he was little I’ve been telling him to stop getting into fights, but that boy just doesn’t know how to listen.” Mrs. Shiroyama shook her head and sat down on the rocking chair in the corner of the room. She put on her reading classes and picked up a book sitting on the table next to her. “I just don’t know what to do with him. He won’t learn his lesson either way.”
Kouyou shook his head, “Oh, he’ll learn his lesson. I’ll make sure of it. If you hear him screaming, don’t worry. I’m just giving him a taste of his own medicine. If the screaming just stops suddenly, you might want to call an ambulance. I can’t assure you I’ll stop once I get started.” The blonde smiled brightly as he skipped up the stairs. Mrs. Shiroyama stared at the boy; Kouyou’s mood swings were amusing sometimes, but she knew he wouldn’t be skipping for long because he’d probably kill her son.
Kouyou stood outside Yuu’s door contemplating if he were going to knock or barge in. If he barged in, he could catch Yuu doing something embarrassing, which would cause Yuu to start a fight in embarrassment. Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to knock. “Open the door Yuu~”
“No!” Yuu yelled childishly from the other side. Kouyou raised his eyebrows.
“Yuu, open the door!”
“No! You’re going to hurt me!” Yuu yelled back in the same tone. Kouyou rolled his eyes and shook his head. Damn straight he was going to hurt him. It wouldn’t be any fun if he didn’t.
“Awe, I wouldn’t hurt you~”
“Yes you will! You’re going to get all mad when you come in here, and then you’re going to yell at me and hit me, and I can’t hit you back because you’re almost a girl, and hitting girls is against the law, and I really don’t want to go t jail right now! My mom is already mad enough. If I go to jail she’ll disown me! I can’t be disowned Kouyou!” Yuu continued to yell.
“As your boyfriend,” Kouyou deadpanned and turned the doorknob, “I’m coming in anyways. Now, if you want to be an idiot that’s fine, but I will lose my temper and beat you to death. If you be mature, I’ll refrain from being mean.” The blonde spoke as he walked through the door and closed it behind him.
Yuu was sitting on the bed with his pillow clutched to his chest almost as if he were using it for protection. “Awe, what happened to Big Bad Yuu from school? Are you more afraid of little me than you are of Kazuki?” Kouyou laughed at how pathetic his boyfriend looked, which was very pathetic. He walked across the room and sat on Yuu’s computer chair with his legs crossed and his hands clasped in his lap.
“No!” Yuu glared and threw the pillow at his lover. “My mom told me I have to be good for the rest of the day or she’s going to take all my video games from me. I wasn’t exactly done playing-”
“That’s what you’re so afraid of?” Kouyou leaned forward and caught the flying pillow and clutched it against his own chest. “I’m not here to talk about video games, Yuu. You’re in a shitload of trouble.”
Yuu huffed and flopped back on the bed. “Is this the part where you yell at me?” He muttered with another glare. If there was one thing he hated more than anything, it was Kouyou yelling at him over something as stupid as a little fight.
“Yes it is.” The blonde stood up from the chair and made his way to the bed with the pillow clutched in his hand. Yuu stared at him like he was retarded. “First of all, how many times do I have to tell you not to fucking fight near me?!” Kouyou hit the other man with the pillow causing Yuu to hide his face with his arms.
“And how many times do I have to tell you to never talk back to me? If I tell you to stop fighting, then you better do it. You know I don’t like it when you don’t listen, and that, honey, is going to cost you for at least a couple of months if I want to be nice.” He hit the older man with the pillow again.
“A couple of months! You know I can’t go that long-”
“Or I could not be nice and make it a year; your choice. Second of all, don’t ever push me over. You’re lucky I didn’t kick your ass for that, but I have more decency than to fight with others. Some of us aren’t complete idiots like you.”
“Oh come on! You were-” Kouyou hit Yuu harder and glared as he suddenly grew more angry.
“And I can’t believe you actually still think I have feelings for Kazuki! I’ve told you time and time again that I don’t want him, but you’re still jealous! Do you have any idea how pathetic you are? Do you not trust me or something? Because I can walk myself out of this room and not come back if you think I’m just going to up and leave you for someone like him.” Kouyou pointed his finger at the door as he continued to yell. Yuu had turned over on his stomach so he didn’t have to look at the other man. When Kouyou was mad he was more than just scary.
“It’s not my fault! You get jealous too! You’re the one who thought I was cheating on you with a girl! So I’m not the only one who has trust issues.” Yuu spoke through gritted teeth as he closed his eyes.
“We’re not talking about that right now, Yuu. We’re talking about your stupid little fight and why you really did it. It wasn’t just because he fucked up Yutaka’s relationship; it was because you’re still jealous and you wanted to show how great you supposedly are. Being a complete jackass isn’t going to make anyone like you, and now you probably have people out looking for you. You don’t fuck with people like Kazuki, Yuu. I can’t believe you’re dumb enough to do that!”
Yuu turned over and sat up with his legs crossed. “Don’t be so worried about me. I know how to stand up for myself. Even if he tries to do something to me-”
“It doesn’t matter if you can stand up for yourself, Yuu. Kazuki knows some really bad people.” Kouyou sighed and sat down on the bed. Kazuki was probably out plotting against Yuu at that very moment. He looked over at his lover and frowned. “Just don’t get into any more fights, and stay out of Kazuki’s way.”
Yuu ran a hand through his hair and shrugged his shoulders, “Fine, but if he decides to do something to me, I will fight back.” He leaned back on his hands and looked at the simmering blonde. “I didn’t mean to piss you off today. You know how I can get when I’m pissed off about something. He didn’t need to go that far with Yutaka, and yes I was still jealous.”
“You are still jealous.” Kouyou corrected with a sigh. “You can really get over that. Do you seriously think I would still like him after all this?”
“I suppose you’re right.” Yuu grabbed Kouyou’s arm, forcing him to lie down next to him. “But now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I’ve been wanting to talk to you about something that may be of some interest to you.” He smirked when Kouyou’s eyes lit up,
“I’m listening~” Kouyou laced his fingers and rested his hands on his stomach.
“I was talking to Naoyuki about us when I was helping him. I wonder how his anniversary is going, by the way. Tomorrow you should pry into that since you’re so good at that sort of stuff. Anyways, I told him about how you wanted us to get married.” The older boy turned to his side and rested his head on his hand. His free hand began playing with the ends of Kouyou’s hair and twisting it around his finger. “Gay marriage is illegal here.”
“And?”
“And that means we can’t get married here. Naoyuki said we could get married in Fairy Land. I was wondering if you wanted to get married there, or if you just wanted to wear the rings.”
Kouyou didn’t even need to think twice. He had been wanting to marry Yuu since they were little, even if he thought they were actually married for the past ten years. Did Yuu really think he would just settle for wearing the rings? He giggled to himself and grasped Yuu’s wrist. “Lets get married in Fairy Land.”
“My only issue with it is how fairies tend to take care of things. You’ve always had ideas for our wedding in mind. I’m just worried that the wedding won’t go the way you want it to go.” Because Kouyou could get pretty pissed when things didn’t go his way. This wedding would be something Kouyou would spend his time planning. If it didn’t go as he planned, he would more than likely throw a fit.
“Then I’ll just make sure Naoyuki is our wedding planner. He’s more mature, and he’s more likely to listen to me unlike most other fairies.” Kouyou entwined his fingers with Yuu’s and smiled. “And even if it doesn’t go as I plan, I’ll still be happy in the end.”
“All I need is to get the ring. I bet you weren’t surprised by my strange way of proposing, huh?” The older man laughed nervously as Kouyou shook his head.
“I didn’t even realize that was your proposal, but I guess I shouldn’t expect so much out of you. I just hope our honey moon is better than your proposal.” Kouyou winked and laughed as Yuu glared and growled.
“For the last time! No!”
A/N: *dies* It's taken me days to write this (it's over 8,000 words). I know a lot has happened in this chapter, so I hope everyone paid attention. You're probably wondering what the hell is going on between Manabu, Toshimasa, and Kazuki. It'll all be explained later. :)
As always, comments are appreciated. ♥
