Chapter: 26/?
Synopsis: Neither one, Kouyou or Yuu really remembered them, but Shinji and Naoyuki still kept an eye on them when they had nothing else to do. Kouyou had lost his fairies when he turned ten because he no longer needed his magical fairies to help him. In other words, he had gotten too old and they had to be assigned to another child. The most they could do for Kouyou was watch him from afar and use limited magic to help him, but only in situations when he was in danger. He wasn’t in danger too often --at least not since Takashi’s memory was erased so he didn’t remember how he managed to break his arm, and Kouyou had no idea either'.
Comment: I shouldn't be up this late updating since I have to be up early tomorrow to cook Thanksgiving dinner, but I figured I'd be nice and make an update for those of you who want it.

‘I could:

1. Just be near you. That seems to piss him off a lot.
2. Hold you hand.
3. Put my arms around you.
4. Play with your hair.
5. Take your glasses off in the romantic movie way and say “You don’t need these, Manabu. You’re beautiful without them.” but then you might be blind, so I would give them back.’

Manabu rolled his eyes as he read the note in his hand that was passed to him while he was walking down the hall. It wasn’t even close to lunch time yet, and Toshimasa had already made an extremely long list of all the possibilities he had talked about earlier.

He continued to read the note while the teacher was at her desk grading papers and working on the next day‘s lesson plans. The rest of the class were still taking a test, but unlike them, Manabu had been prepared and already finished. It wasn’t even a very hard test either; it was over WWII and Manabu already knew a lot about the topic thanks to his grandfather.

He looked at the boy sitting at the desk next him and suppressed a smirk. Kazuki had his head propped up on his left hand so he didn’t have to see Manabu. Manabu was amused by this, actually. Was Kazuki that jealous?

Manabu went back to the note in his hands. All of the possibilities were too comical to actually be done in school, well at least most of them were. He half wondered how Toshimasa was able to come up with such a list in the span of a few class periods. The waiter must have ignored his lessons or something.

‘297. We could go play in the rain together while he watches! Then we’d both be soaking wet, and since our shirts are white they’d be see-through. I think you know where I’m going with this one.
298. I could carry your books for you, but I guess that would only work if we had class together, or if I were willing to be late for class and walk you to yours… I could if you want.
299. I could kiss you. Actually, scratch that. I could make out without in the most extreme way. I’d turn you into a little moaning mess, love. That outta make him mad.
300. I could throw you on the lunch table and ravish your body while the whole school watches!!!’

Manabu folded the note and blinked his eyes in disbelief. He wouldn’t put it past the older man to do that. Toshimasa seemed like he would do anything if it got on Kazuki’s nerves. He was almost afraid to go to lunch now. What if Toshimasa really decided to throw him on the lunch table? That would just be embarrassing, and a lot of kids would look down their noses at him. That wasn’t a problem; expulsion was.

He shook his head with a small smile as he tucked the note into his pocket in favor of writing back. He opened his notebook to a clean page and grabbed his pen, noticing how Kazuki was now staring at him with a raised eyebrow.

“What?” He snapped and put his pen down. Kazuki shrugged but continued to stare.

“You never wrote notes to me.” Kazuki seemed to glare. Manabu smirked and picked up his pen again. Why in the hell would he have written notes to Kazuki?

“That’s because we sit beside each other for most of the day.” He rolled his eyes as Kazuki pouted.

“Y’know, a little ‘I love you’ note would have been nice from time to time. I’m assuming that’s what you’re writing to him.” Kazuki’s eye twitched at the thought of the other man. How he didn’t see this coming was beyond him. He should have known something was up. Manabu was just too squeaky clean to be innocent. He should have known better than to trust him so much.

“You never gave me little ‘I love you’ notes, so why would I give one to you? And just for the record, that’s not what I’m writing to him, if you must know.” Manabu stuck his tongue out. Should he really be having a nice conversation with Kazuki? It wasn’t such a bad thing, really. If he were nice, then maybe Kazuki wouldn’t try anything. Actually, he didn’t think Kazuki was really going to do anything in the first place. He may have threatened him, but it was obvious he was too hurt and upset to actually do something. Manabu almost felt bad, but then he remembered how terrible the other man was.

“When you love someone, wouldn’t you want to let them know in little ways? I’m not much of a writer; I preferred to tell you in person.” Kazuki turned back to his test and the conversation ended there. Manabu rolled his eyes and turned back to his notebook.

It was stupid that he was feeling sorry for Kazuki right now. The other man just had something about him that Manabu was attracted to. Even if he were still attracted, he would never take him back. That part of his life was over, and Manabu was completely set on moving on with his life. He had Toshimasa now, and Kazuki was in the past.

But that didn’t stop him from glancing over at the other man while he wrote. “If I remember correctly, we used to slip notes back and forth when we were bored.” He muttered as he turned back to his notebook. When he glanced to the side, he noticed a small smile on Kazuki’s face. He wasn’t so sure he was glad it was there or not.

---

“Here.” A neatly folded note was placed in his hand before Manabu was walking away toward his classroom at the other end of the hall. Toshimasa giggled with excitement. Passing notes was completely childish, but it seemed perfect for their relationship. Toshimasa was childish in many ways, but he didn’t let people see that side of him too often. People wouldn’t take him too seriously if they knew how he acted half of the time.

His fingers curled around the note as he entered his classroom. He really had no interest in English, so he wasn’t going to pay attention. He didn’t see why he was forced to learn another language when he was completely content with his own, so he wasn’t going to listen to the lesson. English was too hard to speak anyways.

He took his seat in the back of the classroom next to some kid who had an obsession with staring at him as if he were some mythical creature or something. He smiled sweetly as he sat his bag down and pulled out his notebook, textbook, and pens. Once the kid had turned his attention to the front of the classroom, Toshimasa unfolded the note from Manabu and began reading the man’s somewhat nice handwriting.

‘We’re not doing the last one, Toshi.’ He giggled to himself because that was the response he knew he was going to get. Even though they had only been together for a little while, he still knew Manabu like the back of his hand. The man was an open book to him.

‘I don’t even want to know how you were able to come up with three hundred possibilities, but I suppose it shouldn’t matter. Is it right to assume you plan to do all those things to me throughout the day just to get on his nerves? Unless it starts raining now, I don’t think we’d be able to run out there so our shirts get soaked and we can… y’know… where you were going with that one.

Anyways, I have a feeling Takashi is going to do something at lunch~ He was standing outside the classroom before class started, and he had Aki with him. What do you think he’ll do? And just what do you think you’re going to do to return the favor to him, hmm? Keep in mind you have a BOYFRIEND. But I know you wouldn’t do anything stupid aside from trying to ravish me in front of everyone.’

Toshimasa giggled as the teacher began walking up and down the rows of desks. He quickly put the note away and opened his textbook to make it look as if he were paying attention. She wasn’t exactly a nice woman, so he really didn’t feel like getting in trouble and sent to the office. She was one of the few people who didn’t care how gorgeous he was, so he knew he couldn’t bat his eyelashes and get out of trouble. She was also related to him, so anything he did would go right back to his mother and he’d be grounded. That was the one flaw involved with having your aunt as a teacher.

“Hara Toshimasa, do you find something to be funny?” He smiled widely as the teacher pointed her ruler in his face. He shook his head and rested his chin on his palm.

“Of course not Yue-chan~” He batted his eyelashes anyways as she glared at him.

“How many times must I tell you to-”

“But your first name is so nice~” He whined as the teacher sighed and turned to walk toward her desk.

“At least drop the ‘-chan’ in favor of ‘-san’. It sounds more professional, and this is a place of business.”

“But ‘-chan’ is so much more cute than ‘-san’. Wouldn’t you want a cute suffix over one that is professional?” He sat up straight as if he were getting worked up. “That’s the problem with teachers these days! They’re so caught up in the fact school is a business that they forget to have fun. Y’know, students don’t like to be taught by a boring teacher who does everything by the book. Lets play English Hopscotch! Y’know, you make a hopscotch board on the floor with tape…”

Yue-san raised an eyebrow. She was clearly confused as to what Toshimasa was going on about this time. Having him in class was such a hassle sometimes because he always had these strange ideas that he wouldn’t fully explain. He would just mention something off the top of his head and act as if it were the most perfect idea.

“I fail to see where you’re going with this, ‘Masa.”

“And that’s why you’re one of those boring teachers Aunt Yue!” Toshimasa threw up his hands. “If you weren’t, then you would have jumped on your desk and told us to move our desks to the wall because we’re going to play a game! Then you would have made the hopscotch board, and then we would have actually learned something.” He sighed dramatically and waved his hand around in the air. This class was a complete waste of his time, although he enjoyed annoying the teacher from time to time. “Ah, never mind. You’ve bored me to tears. You just do that thing you call teaching and I’ll sit over here and attempt to absorb all your oh-so great information into my brain, but my cranium is sort of thick so it may take some time.”

He pulled out his notebook and began writing back to Manabu quickly as another student began asking Yue-san a question. Hmm, he wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to say back to the other man. If Takashi and Aki were keeping an eye on Kazuki this soon, that was definitely a good thing. That meant he was going to do something soon. He couldn’t wait to see what Takashi had in mind.

“By the way, you weren’t even paying attention in the first place, Toshimasa.” Yue-san deadpanned, but nonetheless grabbed a dry-erase marker to begin writing notes on the board. Toshimasa finished his sentence before he tapped his lips with his pen.

“And whose fault is that? This class needs more excitement! Actually, I just need a bit of excitement before I can properly learn.” Toshimasa began playing with a piece of his dark hair while he was continuing to write. His note was kind of messy, but he made sure to make a short apology for that so Manabu wouldn’t think he was being sloppy on purpose.

“Fine, go do something exciting and come right back, but take the hall pass with you.” The teacher massaged her temples as Toshimasa grinned.

“Really?” He began folding his note before he tucked it into his pocket.

“Really.”

“REALLY REALLY?” Toshimasa leaned forward in his desk. If he would have leaned forward anymore he would have tipped the whole desk over.

“Really really! Now get out of here before you kill me.” Yue-san pointed towards the door. “I’ll do anything if it gets you out of my hair for a little bit.” She smirked when the student skipped through the room and out the door.

“And do you know what the sad part is, class?” She asked as she leaned against the board. The class was silent as she glanced at the door Toshimasa had just skipped through. “I have to go to his house after work because we’re having a family dinner.”

---

Manabu was almost asleep. He really didn’t like his mythology teacher. The class was pretty cool, and the teacher was also alright, but what he hated the most was the fact the teacher wouldn’t let him close his eyes for even a second. It was a good thing they were watching a movie and his hair was in his eyes otherwise the teacher would have noticed he was falling asleep.

“Stay awake, dumbass.” Kazuki hissed as he nudged his former boyfriend. “I don’t feel like listening to him complain today.”

“Shut up.” Manabu swatted at Kazuki, “He won’t complain if you don’t draw attention to me.”

Kazuki began arguing back, and Manabu was all too happy to begin arguing as well. The movie they were watching was boring. It was something about the story of Hermes. If it were about Hades he would be more interested. He didn’t even want to take Mythology, but Kazuki had told him he would help him with all his homework. In the end Kazuki never helped and Manabu was stuck in the class.

Suddenly a hand was on his shoulder and his name was being spoken. ‘Shit.’ He nervously looked up at the teacher who had his eyebrow raised.

“I don’t know if I should even let you talk to your friend in the hall if you’re not going to pay attention to the movie.” The teacher spoke with amusement. His eyes shifted between Manabu and Kazuki before a smile broke out across his features.

“Kazuki started it! He started nudging me, and then he started arguing with me!” Manabu pointed. “You should move him across the room for being a distraction.”

“I’ll think about it.” The teacher rolled his eyes and patted him on the shoulder. “Go talk to your friend, but don’t take too long. After the movie we’re going to get started on your homework.” Manabu pouted at the mention of homework. He already had enough homework for the night.

He got up and left the room only to be shoved against the wall by none other than Toshimasa. He furrowed his eyebrows at the bouncing man before placing his hands on Toshimasa’s chest.

“What are you doing? Shouldn’t you be in class?”

“Shh~” Toshimasa giggled as he pulled the note out of his pocket and placed it in Manabu’s, patting the man‘s pocket with a grin. “Yue-chan told me I could leave to do something exciting, so here I am. The only thing here that excites me is you, so~“ The waiter batted his eyelashes hopefully.

Manabu smirked but didn’t move a muscle. He was wondering what Toshimasa’s idea of ‘exciting’ was and why he excited him. He knew of a few reasons, but those weren’t school appropriate.

“So~ what?” The short man continued to smirk as Toshimasa slumped his shoulders and rested his head on his shoulder.

“You really aren’t following my train of thought here, are you?”

“You didn’t give me a big enough hint, so no I’m not following your train of thought.” Manabu squeaked when he was pulled in front of the classroom door with Toshimasa’s hands on his hips. No one in the room would be able to see the older man’s hands, but they could see the two of them clearly.

“What are you doing?” He hissed when Toshimasa giggled at him.

“Number two-hundred-ninety-nine, kind of.” The waiter grinned when Manabu glared at him. This was a dumb idea, but he really should have saw it coming. Kazuki was for sure watching from the corner of his eye. He could have sworn their list only pertained to lunch and not class time.

“You have got to be kidding me.” He shook his head, but sure enough, Toshimasa wasn’t kidding. He never kidded when it came to stuff like this. If he were able to piss off Kazuki and embarrass Manabu all in one go, Toshimasa was a happy camper. There was nothing more adorable than Manabu blushing.

The waiter rested his right hand on the nape of Manabu’s neck with a sweet smile before he was leaning in way too close for Manabu’s liking at that moment. He should have known Toshimasa was going to be out in the hall. Who else would it have been? He wanted to slap himself for not seeing this coming, but it shouldn’t have mattered too much, right? Toshimasa’s lips were pressed against his gently. It was obvious Toshimasa was just looking for a peck and not an actual kiss, but that didn’t stop Manabu from going red in the face. When Toshimasa pulled back, he began laughing softly and wrapped his arms around the smaller man.

“You’re so cute Manabu. Have I ever told you that?” The waiter quickly kissed the top of Manabu’s head.

“I don’t think so…” Manabu pulled away but ducked his head when he noticed his entire class, including the teacher, was watching him. He sighed heavily and hid his face against Toshimasa’s shoulder. “Toshimasa, I’m going to kill you for this.”

---

“You should have came over last night when I texted you!” Yuu’s head hit his desk as a groan slipped pass his lips. Kouyou hadn’t said a word for the past few classes, and now he decided he didn’t want to be quiet anymore. Yuu almost wished Kouyou didn’t open his mouth because he was getting pretty annoyed. Of course he didn’t go to Kouyou’s house; he wasn’t even home. He was in Fairy Land helping Naoyuki, but he couldn’t say that in the middle of class.

“I wasn’t home, and I didn’t have reception.” He muttered thinking Kouyou would know what he was talking about. If he weren’t home, were else would he be? It was too late to be out with friends, so there was only one other place he would be if he wasn’t with Kouyou. But the blonde’s eyes turned into slits and his hands balled up into fists.

“Who is she?!” Kouyou demanded. At first Kouyou was only pretending to be jealous so Yuu would have to make it up to him, but Yuu told him to go home. Not only did Kouyou have to walk himself home in the dark, but he also didn’t get makeup sex. He wasn’t in a good mood, then Yuu didn’t even reply back to his text. No reply and no Yuu only made him angry, so when he got to school he didn’t want to talk to his lover. Yuu wasn’t worthy at that moment, but his anger kept building up to the point he had to say something.

Yuu’s head snapped up at the words. His eyes were wide as he clamped a hand over Kouyou’s mouth. “What the fuck are you talking about?!” He snapped. Of course Kouyou would think he had actually ran off with someone. Kouyou tended to go overboard when he was upset, but accusing Yuu of cheating was just too much.

“All I’m saying is you seemed pretty into flirting with those girls, then you told me to go home by myself, then you didn’t reply to my text. So which one were you with?” Kouyou crossed his arms over his chest and pouted.

“I wasn’t with any girl!” Yuu hissed. He couldn’t believe Kouyou was being serious. He would never cheat on Kouyou; he knew what the consequences would be.

“How am I supposed to know that?” Kouyou turned his head to the side as Yuu growled.

“Because you should know me better than to do something like that. First of all, I’m your boyfriend so you should trust me. I’d never cheat on you, and you know that. I’m also gay so I’m not interested in those girls. I was only flirting with them because it’s good for business. I’d pick you over anyone any day.”

Kouyou shook his head and sighed dramatically. “Then where were you?” He looked over at Yuu who had his face in his hands.

“I really can’t tell you the specifics here.” Yuu rubbed his face before sitting up straight. Kouyou looked at him like he was stupid, or at least like he didn’t believe what he was saying.

“Oh, you can’t tell me here because you need to come up with a way to lie to me so I’ll believe you?” Kouyou raised an eyebrow when Yuu’s jaw tightened.

“Kouyou, how dumb are you? Really. How fucking stupid are you?” The older man snapped. Dealing with Kouyou was sometimes not worth Yuu’s time. This was ridiculous.

“Now you’re insulting me?!” Kouyou snapped back.

“You seem to listen perfectly when I’m insulting you, huh? Why can’t you listen perfectly when I’m telling you I’m not cheating on you? I can’t tell you where I was because everyone would think I’m nuts! But you’re so dumb that you actually think I would cheat on you with a girl. You’re supposed to trust me.” Yuu crossed his arms and turned his body so he didn’t have to look at the other man.

Kouyou slapped himself in the face; maybe he really was stupid. He reached out and placed his hand on Yuu’s shoulder and tried to pull him back. “Why didn’t you just say you were there? You could have said you were with Shinji and Naoyuki. I would have understood.” He heard Yuu laugh bitterly and sighed. “I’m sorry, but what else was I supposed to think? You know I don’t like it when I feel intimidated by someone else.”

“Well, I didn’t think to use their names.” Yuu turned back around. “and I was just with Naoyuki because you were supposed to help him, but you’re not that serious or romantic and blah blah blah.”

“I’m not romantic?” Kouyou looked hurt as Yuu shook his head.

“No, and I should know that. It’s not a bad thing. I’m the romantic one, and you’re the cute one. We even each other out.” Yuu shrugged with a small smile. It was almost as if they weren’t just arguing. That was how most of their arguments ended. Half of the time it didn’t matter if they got into an argument because a minute later they forgot all about it.

“You’re cute too, y’know. That’s one of the reasons I liked you so much when we were little. I also liked you because you had no interest in me when we first met, so that only made me like you more.”

“That’s because you were annoying and you were talking to yourself.”[1] Yuu smirked when Kouyou glared at him.

“I was talking to Shinji. You’re the one who called me Crazy Kouyou, but that was okay. I was determined to get you, and look how well I did. You’re mine.” Kouyou smiled cheerfully.

“I didn’t know you had fairies, so you did look crazy.” Yuu spoke matter-of-factly. Kouyou did look crazy when he looked like he was talking to himself, but he looked even more crazy when he said he had fairies. At the time, Yuu didn’t want anything to do with the kid.

“And you’re mine.” Kouyou leaned forward with a pout.

“And your point?”

“You’re mine. That was your cue to say I’m yours. That’s how these types of conversations work! I say ’You’re mine’ and you say ’and you’re mine, Kouyou-sama’. That’s how it works. I can’t believe you didn’t know that.” Kouyou sighed and shook his head.

“I’d never call you Kouyou-sama.” Yuu simply said. Kouyou turned to him with a glare and pointed his finger in his face.

“One day you will.”

“For the last time, I will not bottom to you.” Yuu put his head down on the desk. This argument was getting old. It didn’t matter what anyone said; Yuu wasn’t going to bottom to Kouyou.

“Will too. You’ll be screaming my name so loud you’ll lose your voice, and then I’ll have to tell everyone I fucked you so hard you can’t speak.”

“And that is why you’ll never dominate me.” Yuu looked over with a blank face.

“Because I’ll make you lose your voice? Oh come on, if it means so much to you, I can take it easy on you so you can talk in the morning. I didn’t know you loved your voice that much.”

“What I meant was, you’re not dominating me because you’d tell everyone. Everyone who knows we’re together knows just by looking at us that I’m the dominant one.” Yuu spoke as the bell rang, signaling the end of class and the beginning of lunch. He picked up all his books and placed them in his book bag before he stood up and slung the bag over his shoulder.

“Are you saying that because I’m more feminine? Because you’re kind of feminine too. I guess it is kind of obvious. I don’t act very dominant, but then again I’m not.” Kouyou shrugged as they walked out of the room together. He glanced over to his side at his lover who was smirking.

“Exactly, so how do you think you’re going to dominate?”

“That’s easy.” Kouyou grinned. “I’m going to invite you over for a romantic evening together because I can be romantic. Then I’m going to spike your drink without you knowing. You’ll be so out of it that you’ll be at my mercy. I’ll tie you to my bed, then fuck your brains out. Dominant.” The blonde smirked as if he had the best plan ever, well that is until Yuu pointed something out.

“You just told me your whole plan therefore, I will never come over for a romantic evening.” Yuu reached his locker and as Kouyou leaned against another locker.

“You’re no fun.” Kouyou pouted as Yuu tossed his books into his locker and grabbed the ones he needed for his last few classes. “Why can’t you just let me dominate you once?” The blonde seemed to whine.

“I don’t know.” Yuu shrugged and slammed his locker shut --because that was the only way the damn thing would actually stay closed. “I guess I just like knowing I’m the dominant one. Y’know, I’m a man. Before you say anything, I know you’re a man too and you want to show your manliness.”

Kouyou pushed himself away from the lockers and followed Yuu down the hall. They spent lunch outside most of the time. Kouyou didn’t like the amount of noise in the lunch room. All the underclassmen were too loud, and it gave him a headache if he stayed in the same room as them for too long.

“That’s really not fair.” Kouyou stated as Yuu held the door open for him. “Maybe I don’t always like being on the bottom. After awhile my ass hurts so much I can hardly walk. You should cut me some slack and take some pity on me. Just think of how much pain you put me through just to fill your needs.”

“That really makes me not want to bottom.” Yuu led the way to their favorite tree and plopped down. Akira and Takanori were already sitting there with Yutaka at their side looking like he hadn’t slept in ages. Yuu and Yutaka had been best friends since they were just little kids. Yuu suddenly realized he hadn’t spent any time with Yutaka lately. He had no idea what was going on in his friend’s life.

“Yutaka, what’s wrong? You look like you haven’t slept in awhile.” He put his hand on his friend’s knee and scooted a bit closer when Yutaka looked like he was going to start crying. Yuu always hated it when Yutaka cried. The younger boy was always so strong on the outside, but Yuu knew what his friend was really like. Yutaka wasn’t as strong as he led people to believe.

“I don’t even know where to begin. You haven’t been around to know anything that’s been happening.” Yutaka hung his head; if there was anyone he would have wanted to go to with his problems, it was Yuu. Ever since Yuu and Kouyou became friends, Yuu and Yutaka grew more and more distant. He had nothing against the blonde, but he was a bit bitter when he needed Yuu.

“I know there was something going on, but I’ve been so busy that I forgot any details I knew.” Yuu wrapped an arm around Yutaka’s shoulders and leaned forward to see his face. “Tell me what happened.”

“Kazuki took Shin from me, then he beat Shin and made it look like I did it. Shin’s parents believed him. They hated me before, but now they hate me more. You know how Shin was always too afraid to fight back, but he’s completely given up. He told me to stop trying to help him and move on. Kazuki has ruined everything just because he has something against Shin.” Yutaka leaned against his friend and closed his eyes. He didn’t sleep the night before. He tried talking to Shin over the phone, but Shin refused to change his mind. He said there was nothing either one of them could do.

Yuu’s jaw clenched. He hated Kazuki. Kazuki was the one other person Kouyou liked, although Kouyou would never go after him. It didn’t matter; he still hated him. Now he had taken Shin from Yutaka? Yuu had heard Kazuki was gay, but he didn’t think he would sink so low as to steal someone from someone else; especially not from someone like Yutaka. If that wasn’t enough, he framed Yutaka?

“Where is he?” His arm tightened around Yutaka as he looked around for the school’s playboy. Kouyou grabbed his free arm and tugged on it.

“Yuu, don’t do anything. You’ll only make things worse.” Kouyou shook his head.

“Did you not just hear what Yutaka said? I’m going to beat the living daylights out of that man for hurting him.”

“But you know how bad your temper is! You’ve already gotten into enough trouble for fighting! Yasu said you’d be suspended if you got into another one.” Kouyou pleaded, but Yuu had already spotted his target, and he wasn’t going to back down now. There was one person that everyone knew not to piss off, and that was Yuu. When he got mad, he let you know.

“Then I guess I’ll just have to get suspended.” Yuu glared as he stood up. Yutaka didn’t bother stopping him because unlike Kouyou he knew nothing could stop him. Yuu did whatever he wanted.

He walked across the school yard as if nothing was bothering him because if he showed he was mad, Kazuki would more than likely try to get away. Kazuki wasn’t stupid; he knew when someone was out to get him. Even Yuu knew that.

Kazuki was sitting on the ground next to Shin with his arm wrapped around him. Yuu cringed at the sight; Shin looked miserable, yet no one was even picking up on it. It was obvious they hated each other. Yuu had no idea what possessed Kazuki to take Shin, but he wasn’t going to waste time trying to find out.

“Kazuki!” He glared when Kazuki looked up at him with one of his so-called irresistible smiles. He really didn’t see what anyone liked about Kazuki. He wasn’t even that attractive. But then again Yuu was dating Kouyou who was, in his opinion, the most attractive guy in school.

Yuu wasn’t even able to grab Kazuki before someone else was stepping in front of him and grabbing him instead. For a second he was almost surprised to see Takashi and Aki holding Kazuki’s arms down to his sides. Takashi didn’t go near Yuu too often since it was clear they didn’t like each other, but this time Yuu was kind of glad the other man decided to show up. He grinned as he looked down at Shin, then turned to look at Takashi.

“Here’s the deal, Sakamoto,” Yuu crossed his arms over his chest and shifted his weight to one leg. “you’re treading on my territory. I’m going to beat him to a bloody pulp because he hurt my friend. You can assist me, or you can go fuck off somewhere.”

“Oh, but I believe I was-”

“I don’t care.”

Shin stood up and tapped Yuu on the shoulder shyly. Even if they had been friends for years, Shin was still shy when he spoke to Yuu. Yuu was so strong, and everyone feared him when he was mad. He respected Yuu, but he also didn’t want him to fight his battles for him.

“Don’t tell me not to do it, Shin.” Yuu spoke angrily. He knew how Shin worked. “You don’t want anyone fighting your battles, but you’re not doing a damn thing about it. If you want to live a life full of misery because you’re too afraid to stand up for yourself, then that’s fine, but I’m not going to let him hurt Yutaka and get away with it. Maybe you really didn’t love Yutaka as much as you always said you did, otherwise you’d be fighting to be with him instead of putting up with Kazuki’s bullshit.”

“Or maybe he knows better than to piss me off.” Kazuki smirked. Yuu turned his attention back to the playboy. “The more Shin disobeys me, the more Yutaka gets hurt.”

Kouyou cursed loudly beside Yutaka as he watched Yuu punch Kazuki in the face. He shook his head and turned to see Yutaka staring at the scene. No one had the guts to stop Yuu, not even Takashi. No, Takashi and Aki decided they were going to help Yuu beat the hell out of Kazuki.

“I should have told Yuu sooner.” Yutaka smirked. “Maybe then Kazuki would have thought twice about stealing Shin from me.”

Kouyou smacked Yutaka and stood up. “What the hell is wrong with you? Shin was your boyfriend. You should have been the one kicking Kazuki’s ass. Yuu could get hurt.”

“I doubt that. With Aki and Takashi helping him, Kazuki won’t be able to get up long enough to hurt anyone.” Yutaka laughed. He couldn’t even see Kazuki because the three men were all on top of him punching him as hard as they could. All that could be seen of Kazuki were his legs sticking out from under Yuu, who was straddling the man.

“I’m not going to sit here and watch him get in trouble.” The blonde stood up and ran across the school yard. He hated violence; Yuu knew that. Yuu promised not to fight in front of him unless it was to protect him. He understood Yuu was pissed because of what Kazuki did to Yutaka, but beating him up wasn’t the answer.

When he got close enough, he could see blood tainting the grass beneath Kazuki. His eyes turned into slits when he heard Yuu laugh to himself. “Shiroyama Yuu!” He snapped and grabbed the back of Yuu’s shirt. Yuu was still hitting Kazuki even as Kouyou pulled him back. He tried to push Kouyou away, but it wasn’t going to happen; Kouyou was pissed.

“Kouyou, fucking let go of me.” Yuu snapped as Kouyou’s arms wrapped around him. He almost knew Kouyou would come over and stop him, but he didn’t think he would stop him so soon. Yuu was just getting started, but thankfully Takashi and Aki were still beating him.

“You know I hate it when you fight.” Kouyou snapped back when Yuu tried to get away from him.

“And you know I hate it when you try to control what I do.“ Yuu pressed his hands against Kouyou’s chest and pushed him away with enough force that the blonde fell against Shin. Yuu wasn’t paying attention as he went back to Kazuki.

“You fucking son of a bitch.” Kouyou muttered angrily and stood back up. He was going to make Yuu stop if it was the last thing he did. He once again reached out and grabbed Yuu, but this time he pulled him up by the collar of his shirt with so much force he was literally choking the older man.

“When I tell you to stop fighting, I mean it.” Kouyou spat as he turned Yuu around and used his other hand to grab hold of the man’s tie.

“I can’t brea-”

“Do I look like I care right now? Hurting Kazuki isn’t going to fucking change what happened. Look at Shin. Does he look like any of this is fucking helping his situation?” The blonde yanked Yuu’s tie so he was looking down at Shin who was sitting on the grass trying to distract himself from what was happening in front of him. “You and Yutaka are fucking pathetic. This is going to come back to bite you in the ass. Kazuki has people, Yuu. They’re powerful people. Now that you’ve decided to do this, they’ll be after you.”

Yuu tried his best to pry Kouyou’s hands off him. He had never seen Kouyou so pissed of before, and half of him wondered why he was so mad. Kouyou had seen him get into fights before, so why was this one any different? Maybe it was because of Shin. This whole thing could have been prevented if Shin was able to stand up for himself. Kouyou had a soft spot for Shin, and seeing him so upset probably triggered something in the blonde and set him off.

“Someone has to step up and be the one to beat the shit out of him. Aside from the three of us, everyone in this school either worships the ground he walks on, or is too terrified of him to do a damn thing.”

“That’s not the fucking point, Yuu.” Kouyou released his grip and shook his head. “By beating him up like this while he has no chance to defend himself, you’re stooping to his level. You may be worse than him at this point.” The blonde tapped Shin on the shoulder and held out his hand.

“You wrong.” Yuu sneered as Shin took Kouyou’s hand and stood up. “You’re just pissed because you actually-”

“We’ve been through this, Yuu. You’re the one who’s jealous and actually thinks I would want him. You’re the one who can’t open his eyes and realize I only love you. You’re not fighting him for Yutaka; you’re fighting him because you think I want him more than I want you, and maybe at this point, I don’t even want you because you’re not acting like yourself. You’re acting like a completely different person that I don’t like.”

Yuu sighed heavily and rubbed his face. Everything Naoyuki had said the day before came back to him. He had promised to stop being jealous. He was supposed to open his eyes and see that they only loved each other.

“You’re right.” He looked back at Kazuki. Takashi and Aki were being held back by teachers and Yasu was hovering over Kazuki. He hadn’t heard anyone approach them, but he also didn’t care.

“Of course I am, but you’re not saying that because you mean it; you’re saying it because you don’t want to lose me. You know you’ve crossed the line, and now you’re going to tell me I’m right and be nice.” Kouyou shook his head and looked pass Yuu at Kazuki. His head was surrounded with his own blood. Kouyou didn’t think it was possible to make someone bleed that much just by punching them, but then again Kouyou never got into fights or stuck around to watch someone fight. He hated fighting.

“You two need to stop fighting.” Shin spoke up but kept his eyes on the ground as he spoke. He didn’t want to look at Yuu; what the taller man had said stung, but nonetheless it was true. But Yuu was wrong about one thing: Shin did love Yutaka. “I may be afraid to stand up for myself, Yuu, but at least I never did stuff like this to make Yutaka worry about me. Kouyou was just trying to protect you, but you don’t even care about that. You care more about fighting and proving your so-called toughness more than you care about Kouyou’s feelings. Personally, I think you’re pathetic, and I don’t see what Kouyou finds so attractive about you. You’re a bastard who doesn’t deserve someone like Kouyou like I didn’t deserve someone like Yutaka.”

Yuu stood with his jaw dropped when Shin walked away without ever looking up at him or Kouyou. He turned to look at his lover, then across the school yard at Yutaka. “Did he just…?”

“Stand up to you?” Kouyou finished for him. “I think he just did, but that doesn’t excuse anything you’ve done today. I’m still mad at you even if you’re the reason he finally grew a pair. You and I are going to have a serious talk when we get home, and by home I mean my house. Don’t you dare try to run off because you had something else to do, or your mom is worried, or whatever lie you decide to use.”

A/N: [1]: This part of the story is related to the side-story Object of Affection that takes place when they meet in kindergarten. If you haven't read it, that's fine, but I would suggest it because kid!Kouyou is cute. xD

By the way, don't think something bad is going to happen to Yuu and Kouyou's relationship~

I've spent a lot of time tonight writing this, so please leave a comment and let me know what you think. *points at lurkers* You too~ :D

I'll get back to comments Friday morning! Knowing me, I'll crash after I do dishes and be out for the rest of the night. It also doesn't help that it's 3:30 AM and I have to get up at 9.

Happy Thanksgiving~ ^^
