Sorry if it's a bit soft... Original video here

EXILE is a band which I "discovered" last year though the group's been around for quite a long time... >.<

But honestly, I like their songs co' I like how their voices can be both nicely melancholic in some songs and appropriately energetic in some other songs just like when I hear Someday, it makes me feel energetic and remember the fact that I can gain access to alot of the internet podcasts and broadcasts and Japanese radio shows because I have internet. And I really think that internet is such a useful but often taken-for-granted tool ne...

優しい光 (ya-sa-shi-i hi-ka-ri) means kind light, and it's about this light designer and his relationship with his girlfriend, how they started out really sweet, the guy made lights for this tree and it lights up during the night. They would also sit under the unlit tree and gaze at the stars. The girlfriend appreciated his work and would often sit with him when he's working. However, as he got famous, they drifted apart, and one day, the guy called up the girl and asked if they can speak to each other.

When they met, they were on this bridge. And as the girl was walking towards the guy, each light on the bridge lit up. However, when all the lights were lit up, the girl pulled the plug and it became dark again. She gazed to the sky where all the stars were. The guy saw her gaze and looked up too.

As both of them looked up, the guy remembered the times when he and she sat under the tree in the dark and looking at the stars, and how they would cup their fingers together to frame the stars...

Back on the bridge, the girl silently told him that it's impossible for them to get back together because he thinks he can replace the small star lights with the grand and bright lights that he can now create, but he has forgotten how the star lights used to light their relationship.

In other words, the feeling is just not the same and not there anymore. And even if he tries to re-light their relationship with the grand and bright lights, he cannot bring back the warmth and sense of familiarity that the stars used to bring them.
