Give to Gain

Nov 10, 2009 23:37

This morning at 3+ am I finished watching Gokusen 3 and the SP. Well, it may be sometime before I start on One Pound Gospel and Ryusei no Kizuna... Anyway, I can't wait to buy Gokusen 1 and 2 and their SPs.

So, went for this PP poster talk... It was as usual, quite informative (depends on how enthusiastic you are about the talk) and after the talk, I mistakenly thought it's Wednesday today, and Wednesday there is this church youth musical thingy, so I was like, okay, I'll go.

But really on the way there, I started getting a bit frustrated. Like, honestly, I feel that even though I am still 18 and still in YW, but I've already had a chance performing in a church youth musical, so I thought to myself, can I not go?

Well, I still went.

And it was only when I was about to reach the church building then I recalled: today is a Tuesday.

Which means, TODAY THERE IS NO REHEARSAL!

Dang it, and to think I bought some Subway cookies for some of the YWs -.-'''

So yup, it was only 7pm when I left, met Sis Chris on on the way.

So not wanting to go home so soon yet (after coming all the way from Woodlands!), I went to Kinokuniya.

That was when I saw these 2 magazines with Arashi on it. Duet Dec 09 (S$16.10) and H 10th Anniversary Special (S$19.00). Felt like buying. Even took a copy of each wanting to buy. But then, I am seriously dead broke this week too, and I still have to save up for Xmas gifts for the others...

So I reluctantly put back the magazines, knowing that I need to have a further perspective of things to come.

And so tonight, I changed my Xmas Wishlist 2009 again. Or rather, update.

Initially, my categories were:
  1. For the 'don't know what to give me' people
  2. For the 'I want to make the gift a bit more personal' people
  3. For the 'willing to spend on my' people

But after tonight's trip to Kino, I changed it to
  1. What I need
  2. What I don't mind recieving
  3. What I want
  4. Don't give me

I guess, after this trip, even though I missed out on buying something quite precious to me for now, but this trip also changed my perspective of things I would like people to give me this Xmas.

I just want something that I can find a use for. Not something that will collect dust over time cos' I don't use it.

But really, my poly year 1 sem 1 classmate Suli once said, "useless information is only useless to those useless enough not to use it". So, who knows, in this context, maybe the thing I think to be useless may indeed be useful to me someday and in ways I didn't expect.

I think I should do the same thing to people also. Buy them useful things. But really, it sort of boils down to one thing: your sincerity. If you're sincere, your gift might reflect it even though it might not be totally perfect for the person.

So lesson learnt (partially): give others what you hope to receive.

And I was reading Aoyama Thelma's Emotions CD booklet just now. And I suddenly remembered how I improved my English when I was younger. I still remember I would often look at the lyrics in the booklet and sing along to the English pop songs. I sang songs like those of Backstreet Boys (their Millenium album with songs like Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely and etc), Britney Spears (remember her Baby One More Time?) and believe it or not, Christina Aguilera (Genie in the Bottle - which, I didn't understand the meaning of the lyrics until much later -.-''').

So I thought to myself, why not improve my Japanese this way too? I have a lot of Japanese songs that I like, why not try to sing along again? And learn the usage of the grammar (particles) and kanji too (:

That gave me inspiration for the day night XD
