"Different" Demographics
Oh dear. The super helpful guy sitting next to me offered me advice about neighborhoods. When I asked him about West Philly, he said that it's a very different demographic from here. And that means largely Black and low income. So he said that it's not a good area and that I should avoid it.
So I guess I would qualify my request for advice on neighborhoods: I would prefer not to get racist advice, coded or otherwise.
Oh yeah, and to the real estate agent who told me to check out the neighborhood first to save everyone time, how is it saving me time to haul my ass over there, look at the neighborhood, and then make an appointment and go back later? I'll check out the f-ing neighborhood when I look at the place. Seriously. I don't have a car.
