There seems to be some confusion as to just who is on the right side at the bottom of the standup art. Luckily, Mary Grandpre has given us drawings of both of the characters in dispute.

Er, sure the "mystery girl" isn't Ginny just like it isn't Ron AND Hermione on the bottom left. Oh, wait! It isn't Dumbledore and Harry at the top either! [/sarcasm]

I don't think Ginny on the cover/promotional poster is any huge deal since I think she will play A role in HBP and I don't think it will necessarily be related to shipping. But, I just LOVE the reactions though! fdfdfdfafjdafjdfldjaflkfjdfadfjas!

CoS Ginny has round cheeks, a heart-shaped face, and little round ears, while Lily's face is longer and narrower (and her hair covers her ears). Yeah, the new picture looks much more like Ginny, the same round cheeks, face, ears, etc. I think it's obvious, both from the similarities of the illustrations and from what we know is coming up in the book that the girl has to be Ginny.

Not only that, but both the HBP mystery girl and CoS Ginny have wavy hair, while Lily's is more straight. [/micro-analyzing]
