bought FFXIII today, have been playing all day so far. first impressions: first hour or two is boring and linear. once the story kicks in more and the characters come together it becomes more interesting and i do think i am going to like these characters more than i initially did. battles are very simple in the beginning but are slowly becoming more complicated and now i have to be careful that my hp doesn't drop to 0 while i'm blinking. it's pretty fast-paced, basically the modern version of the old atb system without being able to cheat by going into your skills menus and more strategic. the skill leveling system seems like FFX's except maybe prettier and more annoying but we'll see. we'll see how the game progresses, hopefully it becomes a little less linear and the story continues to be solid.
