It's sometimes hard to remember what certain times in my life felt like. Certain parts of certain ages are like snapshots and I couldn't forget them if I tried - others are fuzzy or invisible now. Chunks of years and swaths of experience - all lost, all gone.

And for all that, "Save a Prayer" will always make me exactly 13 years old again. At both the lowest and possible highest point of my then young life. Really realizing for the very first time that everyone is, ultimately alone - and that this is still something that can be survived. And that it's worth crying over. And then moving on.

Duran Duran as a focal point for self-awareness. Whoddathunkit?

Everyone was on AOL and using Hotmail as i left jurnior high and entered highschool, but living in a somewhat small town my parents didn't get the internet until around my sophomore year. I remember being excited about it, but still not using it that often, other than napster, hotmail, and occasionally grossing myself and my friends out by things on rotten.com. Other than that...it really wasn't a huge feature in my life ( ... )
