So I decided to put a long parental argument to rest. For years my parents have poked fun at me for not liking fish (unless it was out of a tuna can or battered in stick form), even though I love fishing. So I was at Albertsons (yes, not all of them got converted) and I saw Rainbow Trout on sale. I quickly picked out a small one and headed off to the herb section for some dill. After getting home, I scoured the internet and a few of my cookbooks for a simple recipe on how to bake this thing. Almost everything I found either wanted me to pan fry the dressed fish or bake the fillets. I had a dressed fish that I wanted to bake because pan frying can really stink up the house if it goes wrong. (If things go *really* wrong, it can get the apartment building fire alarm to go off and stink up your apartment for weeks.) Finally discovered and modified a baked trout recipe using a few substitutions that I knew would work. I will admit that the trout cooked up quicker than chicken and it smelled wonderful. After eating about half of the trout I decided that it wasn't quite for me. I can't describe *why* I didn't like it exactly. The texture was alright, the flavor was alright; I guess it just wasn't my thing. But now I know that I can prepare fish and eat it in a pinch.
