STUBBORN LOVE
(a poem by Confideo)
I look into your eyes and see eternity unfold before me
Your presence fills my life to an almost intolerable degree
The rebel deep within sometimes wants to just run and escape from you
But your stubborn love would not give up as you pursue me through and through
As I allow you to show me your love in ways nobody else can
My heart longs for an answer to: "How could you be so extravagant?"
I realize that the years I lived before you came into my life
Were characterized by wandering in circles on a cold, cold night
Now a day without you is something I would compare to a nightmare
The intensity of your love creates a need to come to you bare
Bare of all pretensions, hypocrisies, and everything else untrue
Because of who you are, my response can only be... "I love you, too."
