The Greatest Victory Ever
I remember how my schoolmates and I would scream our hearts out while cheering for our school team during basketball championship games. We claimed victory even before the first shot got in. Every time the opposing team would shoot a ball, we would shout at them saying, "What's the point? You're going to lose anyway!". I could not believe how mean we were back then.
There is one victory that is the greatest ever -- Jesus' resurrection which is the evidence of His triumph over death. What is amazing about it is that everyone who believes that He is Savior and Lord will partake of all the benefits of this victory including eternal life. Jesus has defanged death and it no longer has its sting.
This is the reason why the world celebrates Resurrection Sunday today. I heard fireworks as early as 6:00 in the morning. Some parts of the world even celebrate it more than Christmas.
May we forever be grateful for the gift of eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ!
