Have you noticed how people constantly desire to be number one? Number one in class, number one in business, number one in sports. TV personalities even resort to name-calling just because they want to come out as number one in the network wars. What's so great about being number one?
If a student is number one in a class of fifty because his average is 76% and the rest got 75% and lower, his being number one means nothing. In the same way, being the number one businessman means nothing if the only reason for this is the number of products sold. How about the number one politician just because he garnered the most number of votes during the elections? Again and again, it means nothing!
There are many people who get stressed out because of having a very competitive nature. They constantly want to be better than the rest which is exactly what being number one means. Its even sad to think how low some people could go just to be at the top. They would say and do anything to secure their spot...even family members and close friends are not spared
On the other hand, there are many successful people who only work hard to be the best that they can be and end up being number one. It's like hitting two birds with one stone. They go for the main thing and gain other benefits in the process. It's high time that people stop desiring to be number one and instead focus on being the best that they can be. By doing so, heads or tails, you win everytime!
