Skank Williams played a show at Gus's last night--they were opening for Deerfield and a band from out of town called the Shotgun Wedding Band or something like that. I ended up not staying for the whole show, I was a little tired and figured I'd leave after Skank Williams, but I'll make it up to Deerfield some other time.

No, not a comment on my weekend among relatives. Last Wednesday the Inner City Surfers and the Sorrys played a show together at Gus's, and I haven't had a chance to write anything about it since then. In the interest of tidying things up--here we go.

As I said in my last post, the Inner City Surfers played Gus's Pub on Monday night. And yeah, Monday night is about as off a night as I can imagine, but the band is pretty much playing its way back home to Toronto and Monday is when they came through Halifax ( Read more... )

I'm about to run out of time, so a proper post later, but last night at Gus's the Inner City Surfers were great, and there was fucking NOBODY there. I think I'll volunteer to put up posters for them next time they come through town, because this is stupid. I'm embarrassed on behalf of Halifax!

I have a few vacation days I need to use up by the end of the month, so I intend to take Tuesday off.

I already have one partner in crime (the photographer from the previous show) committed to joining me. Can't wait!
