Speaking of the Bechdel Test

...in looking at Web pages that reference the test, I've found more or less serious references to the anti-Bechdel test, which seems to involve two named male characters talking about something other than a woman.

I'm trying, now, to figure out whether I've ever seen a movie that would fail that test. The closest I have come on brief thought is Master & Commander--if we accept HMS Surprise as a female character. Practically all the characters talk about her most of the time. But even at that, they also talk about prize money or music or the captain of Acheron...

Actually, Hanna might fail it, since the only male characters who talk to each other are discussing either Hanna or the Evil Queen at the time. Huh.

characters, silliness, writing
