Best part of the first day of school = tackle-hugging. Without questions. I absolutely love the first day of school, and I totally dig all my classes. At least, I do so far. I'm a slight bit concerned about Analysis, which I went to today. I might have to resort to reading the information in the book after every lesson Ed teaches. Either that, or go to those math help meetings after forum, if they offer them this year. But I suppose I'm getting ahead of myself.
American Film is fascinating. Brian pulled out these awesome, ancient projector thingys this morning, and it was sweet. Health is pretty interesting, if not very educational, and Weight Training is flipping sweet. I swear, by the end of next month, I will have lost at least ten pounds, if not more. When you combine the weight traning three days a week and the biking to and from school everyday, that's a serious work out for me. I feel like my legs are in a constant state of jello.
Today I got home, did homework, sat down on my bed for a moment and almost fell asleep, and researched college info. I'm really excited, because I found the program I want to do. It's called M-POD, and they offer it through WCC. With it, you do two years of college at WCC and then transfer to another school of your choice (usually UofM) for the last two years. I also looked up scholarships, grants, and MME money.
Apparently you don't get all $4000 at once. They only give it to you once you've finished two years of post-high school education. Unless you scored 2s or better, in which case they'll give you $1000 a year for the first two years, and then the last $2000 after. In between that money (I scored all 1s and 2s), the grants I plan to apply for, and the job I will hopefully have soon, I should be able to cover college. And I'm planning to bus, which is going to save me sooo much.
I'm happiest right now because I have this all figured out. We weren't sure how the bus system worked with regards to getting to WCC, so we had thought I would have to apply to UofM just to be safe, because getting there would be easier. But then I found a workable bus route, which is good, because I've wanted to go to WCC from the get-go. And the best part... I don't have to apply for financial aid until January 1st, and the latest I can turn my application for WCC in is August 14th. No freaking out about college apps for me!
Sorry for the rant, and the not making sense and whatnot. I'm exhausted and sore and relieved and braindead and very, very sleepy.
Lots of love,
Emily
