Faire is over!

Faire has ended for the 2006 run.... Overall thoughts:

Much has improved over the last year; we had limited camping (if you can call it that). The boots were given more space (and more time to set up despite rain). Some old shows were gone, some new ones were introduced... New vendors were there and we had a new program which permitted some folk to just showcase for 2 weeks instead of the entire run (I was so upset I was broke when the leatherworker had the beautiful clothes on sale). I sang once in a while with Anonymous Two

I found my personal issues and have delt with them. Colleen, Jodi, and I are all tired of being 'booth managers'. It's hard work and none of us really got to enjoy ourselves this year. I saw 2 shows out of the entire run. Moonie and Broon and the Pyramus & Thisbe don't count since it's nextdoor. Next year Colleen and I may form a singing group with some others and have classical music back in the Faire. As much as I love them, the 3 singing troupes we have are mostly tavern songs as opposed to courtly music. The Faire needs to bring back some of the Living History that it's moved away from when we were bought out by the Renaissance Entertainment Corp. As you can see, going from the Living History Centre to the REC did bring major changes.

What I would like to see next year:
The fairies return! Yes, I liked them because we dealt with them as real fae; normal folk didn't see them. Drunkards, children, and simpletons could (Oh, and the patrons. Interpret that as you would. :P)
The Washerwenches Poppy and Daphne. So cute. So silly. And they care about the community.
The Shannon and Shelby Show!
More history. The Easter mass was beautiful. So was the traditional Irish funeral procession I caught a glimpse of last night.
More room for St. Ives. They were so crowded in there at the front. It also wastes their talents as people go there in the morning and again when they leave the Faire and they're missed the rest of the day.
Proper camping, with dinner and parties and dancing and people able to walk the streets at night.
LESS RAIN

I had such fun with our WoW stuff. People really enjoyed it and it gave us silliness to do back and forth to our poor cart in the Food Court.

For the last day we went all out. I had my nightelf wig and ears on. Robin dressed as Arthas and did a 'Frozen Throne' bit. I had signs.

Oh, and we had /dance with a bunch of girls doing the macarena or the gnome dance, a pair duelling, someone mining a rock pile, and a guy sitting there with an AFK sign. It rocked.
