I've seen the same phrase used a few times lately, and I figured somebody must be quoting somebody else, but what got me today is that I've now seen it used for opposite intents, so I had to go look it up.

I did a Yoga+Pilates class at the fitness center at work last week.  Apparently, if one is a fitness instructor, the anatomical word for the posterior of the people in the class is "tushie".  I found this mildly amusing, but even more perplexing after she once said "bum" and then apologized, and said she was still in preschool mode from her other ( Read more... )

I am a scientist, and in many of my jobs, people (myself included sometimes) have referred to the lab work I do as "blowing things up".  I learned a new phrase today:
