Things are settling into a comfortable routine around here. You'd think that someone who spends 12 hours a day sitting in front of an LCD would be disinclined to do the same thing when he's off duty, but you'd be wrong. I'm spending scads of time on the StarTrekOnline.com forums--I'm incredibly excited about all of the
information,
screenshots, and
video they're disseminating for ComicCon. Star Trek Online is shaping up to be an absolutely stellar MMO, one which I expect will permanently pry me away from World of Warcraft and which I can squee about to all my friends. MUCH EXCITEMENT!
Since Facebook is blocked from work, I've joined the herd of birds and started using
my Twitter account. Expect frequent updates on such exciting topics as the weather in Baghdad and the frequency of military exercises. If any of y'all are on there, give me a shout.
I ordered a copy of Mirror's Edge from NewEgg, paid $6 for shipping, and it took 9 days to arrive here. Not bad! Mirror's Edge is a first-person running game which I've been looking forward to for a while. It's kind of like Prince of Persia from a first-person perspective, flavored with Portal--extremely minimalistic UI, nothing to distract you from the joy of sprinting across skyscraper rooftops and wall-running past cops. It's a very unusual game, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Laundry's done! My day off awaits!
